continuing off from my last post, i also think its okay to ship what you want so long as its between consenting adults, but also because not all of sigma and moira's relationship is inherently toxic, its just a bizarre dynamic. especially because some of their interactions in game, he does shit to annoy her because he thinks its funny. but also there are more than two sexualities aside from gay and straight, sigma and moira could also be bi or pan sexual and the assumption that they can only be one or the other bothers me because it is as foolish as it is problematic just because you're actively erasing bi and pan sexual folk in the process

So I wasn’t sure if I should say anything about this or not but recent events gave me a final push to stop being quiet about this because it’s getting out of hand.

There’s a group of people, mostly on Twitter, who are... adamant about Louis and Harry’s sex lives, namely that Louis bottoms and can only bottom, apparently. There has been a top/bottom discourse in this fandom for years but I would think, by now, people would have learnt how wrong and gross it is to be so stuck in your ways to the point where you bully and harass other people for having different opinions/preferences than you do especially when we don’t Louis or Harry at all personally. That group of people do not realize how hypocritical and rude they can be and they don’t seem to care or think there’s anything wrong with it. Having your fic preferences is one thing because at the end of the day, that’s all it is; fiction. But your fics =/= reality. Their “opinions” about Louis and Harry’s sex lives are largely based on stereotypes (I.e. Louis being shorter, having a “big bum” equates to him being a bottom) and as a result they have such a warped perception on gay relationships. There’s always been this discourse through the years so that’s not particularly the point of this. The point is that there’s been so much of anger and hatred towards, for example, me because I helped out a friend for the bottom Harry fest and said friend, and after yesterday, I found out that anybody who remotely threatens any of their head canons gets harassed or bullied, usually on Twitter then hateful anons on tumblr. And this goes on for MONTHS. People who submitted prompts for their bottom Louis fest got made fun of on twitter because it was apparently not bottom Louis enough for them. It’s so discouraging to receive hate, especially as an author and as a creator just because you have different opinions or preferences than someone else. It’s sad and pathetic that you feel the need to bully other people to justify anything you say. This is an example of the things I’ve received for months now, since before my birthday:

And there’s also the anons for the fest itself that received hate, not to mention @leedsau who received hate yesterday immediately after reblogging a few harmless posts. We just figured that enough is enough because it’s been going on for so long and people just don’t want to say anything about it, which I can understand, but I can’t let it slide anymore. This isn’t the first time me or my friends have received hate from this group of people and for the stupidest of things just because they’re convinced of something that is all part of their fetishist fantasies. I’m sorry for such a long post and if you don’t care about this sort of thing then gladly ignore it but I’m tired of how long this has been going on now. Someone needed to say something. This is never okay.

There’s so many more that have experienced the same thing but chose to remain anonymous, understandably so, because this is how much that group of people have bullied and harassed others. There’s also been a lot of hate to trans/non-binary fans who have found comfort in Harry/his sexuality /messages/music etc that are constantly being bullied about how they feel in the community by mostly straight people (these same people think it’s okay to discuss H and L’s sex lives on the daily though in the most crude and disgusting ways).

That’s gonna be all I have to say cos otherwise this is gonna be way too long. Long story short, something had to be said.
