the late 2000s/early 2010s trend of US based tv shows having episodes about "Crazed Leftist Conspiracy Theorists doing Domestic Terrorism on The Government and Hurting Innocents in their attempts to Destroy The Bourgeoisie" and "Environmentalist Acting Crazy In The Name Of Saving The Animals" is so strange to me because i've seen so many of that type of episode that whenever i'm watching a new show from around that time period i'm like All right when are we getting to the Leftist Terrorism / Crazed Environmentalist episode. and there almost always is one. and i feel like it's not a coincidence considering like. idk i was too young to remember a lot of it firsthand but i know there were the writers strikes in 2007 (which obviously directly influenced tv), the recession in 2008, protests against the iraq war, the occupy wall street movement, climate activism, the paris agreement towards the mid 2010s, like there was a Lot of leftist (and democrat which in the US people see as leftist for some reason) activism at that time and a lot of protests happening. and along with it there were SO many episodes of shows saying Look at these crazed leftist rioters isn't this so dangerous!! and meanwhile there's Rarely episodes showing crazed right wing rioters and right wing domestic terrorism and the like. is it fair to say it really feels like Intentional Propaganda wrapped up in an easy-to-digest 45-minute package. and considering that since they were so common within a really specific time frame, is it fair to think people were getting Strongly Encouraged or paid to make them or something
