The shower turns off and Aiden steps out into the steam of the bathroom. He runs a towel down his face and wipes the mirror free of fog, looking at himself in the mirror. He’s not sure how they got there, but the day has finally arrived and there’s a mixture of low grade nervous but more so excitement. Truthfully, he’s not sure what the right emotion is that he’s supposed to be feeling but he’s doing pretty alright. He can hear chattering on the other side of the door, TJ and Jordan must be here now and Aiden smells breakfast food as well. He dries himself off and pulls on sweatpants and exits the bathroom seeing his friends eating and already talking about the day’s events.

Aiden sits with them, the balcony door open with the sun shining and a nice, gentle breeze coming through. Not one cloud is in the sky and Aiden knows it’s going to be a good day. For half a moment he thinks about his grandparents, how he wishes they could have been here, but he doesn’t think about it too long knowing that they are here, somewhere at least. And then Luci’s father, Aiden holds onto the ring between his fingers, staring at the ring and it will always mean a great amount to him that he’s able to wear this. 

“You should get dressed.”

Aiden glances up as sees Robbie half dressed, just missing his suit jacket and he nods. Aiden gazes back at the ring and stands up from the chair he’s in, placing the ring in Robbie’s hand. “Don’t lost it.” He murmurs and grabs his garment bag from the closet. There’s a knock at the door and Aiden opens it, his nephew running through the door in his own little suit, Siobhan stands on the other side with the hair done and in a robe. 

“He just needs you to tie his tie for him, but he’s good here.” Siobhan nods and looks at her brother for a long moment. “She’s fine, nervous but excited. And she looks beautiful.”

Siobhan already knows his question before Aiden can even ask. He smiles small and nods. “Thanks.” Siobhan leans forward and presses a kiss to Aiden’s cheek. 

It’s almost time.
