8,000+ steps, 8.5 hours of sleep, and I’ve already hit my goal of 3 workouts per week by Tuesday? You might say I’m getting a little better at this whole parenthood thing. You might also say I’ve gotten lucky, especially where the sleep is concerned 🤪
The day started with me trying again, for the first time in a few weeks, to see if I could get the baby to latch. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos on technique and am happy to say WE DID IT. The last time I tried was so rough that I was really disheartened. I won’t be doing it all the time, because he ended up being hungry like an hour later, but we’re making progress. I’m hoping it’ll get easier and easier, but I expect that regardless I won’t stop pumping, which is just fine with me at this point.
Beautiful weather again today meant taking the little man for a hike. A lot of the trail was pretty even, but boy oh boy does having a 13lb baby strapped to your torso make those inclines feel even more intense. Each time we hike now, I think about the last time we did that hike last year when I was pregnant. It’s so cool doing them now with Pep on the outside. So cool. I love watching him look around and take everything in, making little noises and faces as the breeze and the sun hit him.. at least for the first few minutes, til he passes out.
After the hike, B took care of Pep so I could go pick up groceries for the next week or so. The fridge is now all stocked up with goodies. Time to plop on the couch with a bowl of pasta and put my feet up!
