Games Workshop somehow managed to make sure T'au somehow got LESS detachments in 11th edition than it had before.
The difference in quality when it comes to the different factions is insane. No one on that design team gives a single shit about that T'au and it is noticeable...
My thoughts on the launch box.
The space marine characters are quite nice looking. The Captain, Ancient and Librarian weren't exactly in need of an update but I'd consider them to be improvements.
I like that the Librarian has a staff instead of a shield and has leaned into the 'rune inscribed' look of the terminator variant.
The Ork characters are 'lookin propa snazzy' as expected. I like how the Bannernob has a proper cloth banner rather than the metal one of the previous model. Nice place to put a decal or freehand on.
The Wierdboy is the best a Wierdboy has ever looked (not that there's too much competition).
It does seem like they hand picked the most boring of the new Vanguard Vets to show off first. I assume the multipart kit that releases after the box will have more weapon options but for the box I feel like going with the sword and pistol for the box just makes them look like fancy Assault Intercessors. I would've equipped them with the hammer and shield.
As a big Dawn of War fan it's great to see the Wartrakk back and the new Dakkarig looks great (although the trailer made it look a bit bigger).
The Intercessors, Boyz and Grots look exactly like what you'd expect, not much to say there, they look good but Intercessors were never gonna be blowing anyone's socks off. It's just nice to have them matching both their armies'new styles.
You couldn't pay me to give a rat's ass about the new Land Speeder but it does increase the likelihood of a new Rhino.
Conclusion: very nice
Got to field the bastard yesterday, lots of fun, and i gotta say walkers hitting on 3+ or even just the 4+ consistently feels really good. The stompa deleted two forgefiends by looking at them then died in melee combat. Fun game, really goofy model to try and maneuver around terrain, will probably try this list again sometime.
The Space Marine side of the boxset is a bit underwhelming compared to the Orks but...
I think these two are cute.
It’s not hiding, it’s tactical! See how rocks and ruins have changed in the new edition.
Markerlights and the Twin Lance ignoring cover means we will be shooting SIGNIFICANTLY better at units on objectives than any other army at the start of 11th since all objectives are now terrain and cover gives -1 BS
It’s likely to balance that we won’t be doing nearly as much charging onto objectives as other armies and this is only if our marketlight rules stay the same, but fingers crossed y’all, this might be big for us 🤞
Having trouble drawing and doubts about trying yo be an artist. Here's my boy.
