"Please tell me that you're not doing anything tonight."

She was turning up completely unannounced at the base, hell she'd only been let onto the premises because she knew one of the guards and Jess knew it. But work had been filled with assholes who had thought their money bought them the right to touch and Jess felt just a little bit cheap. It was late, and all she'd wanted was a little comfort and a smile from Dom. Only when she'd knocked at the door had she started to think that this wasn't a great idea.

"I know its late. Real late. But I bought pizza. And beer." She gave him a hopeful smile.

Jess was exhausted, she'd been dancing until late the night before, and DJing at Ames' bar that night. Right now, there was very little on her mind aside from crawling into bed and getting some much needed sleep. She'd worry about things like showering and eating in the morning.

Heading out of the bar, she ran straight into someone, a tall guy with big shoulders, someone she'd seen in the bar earlier, although granted he'd looked a little lost, like the friend who had been dragged out by his friends. She crouched down, grabbing the contents of her handbag that had spilled out across the pavement.

"Shit, I am so sorry..."

Silence stretched in the car's interior. Only the soft purr of the engine and the squeaky breaks of a neighboring vehicle broke the silence. Even the town grew hushed as evening fell. It wasn't uncomfortable for Aaron, but he figured it would be easier if he just started talking. He glanced out the window and wondered what to say to break the quiet.

"So, uh...where do you want me to take you?"

"How the fuck did you get in my room?"

"Yo, Ackland! Ya miss me?"

"So I have a new rule; a girl should never eat her weight in ice cream alone. Care to join me? I figure I weigh more than you do, but I'll play fair, I promise."

The sound of a violin echoed down the barracks hall, filling them with music. Matt hadn't bothered with closing the door to his and Viper's room all the way, so the music was much more noticeable than when he normally practiced. He didn't mind if people watched him practice, it was just habit to do it when he was alone.

He swayed slightly as he pulled the bow back and forth over the strings and his fingers moved over the neck of the violin. The movements were a kind of comfort to him. During his parents divorced, he'd spent much of his time playing to distract himself.

He had his back to the door and didn't even notice when someone pushed it open and stood in the doorway.
