It's Complicated
Always a good day to post Whistlejacket's portrait. Because THIS is not a painting of a horse, is a full portrait.
I know people get deeply amazed when finding other works like 'Ophelia', by Sir John Everett Millais at the Tate Britain (I did too!), but entering the room where Whistlejacket is with no background and in life size is breathtaking.
You can go take a look at this wonderful (not anatomically correct) horse (who cares, this is ART) at the National Gallery in room 34, and read way more about this portrait, Stubbs, Whistlejacket's racing career, and the 2nd Marquess of Rockingham HERE.

It's Kraken game day! I'm already hyped and ready to go. And there's no Colton Parayko tonight, so I have zero reasons to like the Blues. .
"I am glad, Sir, my opinion ſo intirely agrees with a gentleman of your learning; becauſe I own to you, that I have as yet found few of my own ſex, who comprehended [Tristram Shandy] clearly enough diſcourſe with me upon the ſubject: for the men ſay none but people of learning, and a great deal of reading, can eaſily comprehend him." To be fair, you have to have a very high degree of learning to understand Tristram Shandy. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of hobby-horses most of the jokes will go over a typical reader's head
