Surrender
There is a beautiful song by Natalie Taylor called Surrender that I’ve been enjoying lately. Although it is a story of a love that has collapsed followed by one preparing to give in to allowing the relationship to flourish, I like to imagine it fits into the world we are living in. I’m struggling. Not with my views on COVID, quarantine, masks, and so on but with the overall state of the world and the requirements by law. I don’t think we could have ever been prepared to experience something like this. Maybe, in America, we tend to be naive because of how cut off we can be from the rest of the world, how selfish we can be, how comfortable we are. Control is a big issue right now. We don’t have much and I think it’s the most important time to surrender to what we can control. Relationships, hobbies, books, family, helping your neighbor. Don’t let the essentials collapse. Follow them through. Let them flourish. Be enveloped in God’s hopes for peace and joy for you.
1 Peter 5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
