I think the worst part about this update is that now i’m actively afraid and wary to reblog things and comment on things, for fear of hurting my fellow artists. on the Reblog and Comment Website.
June '26 Update
I got a little ahead of myself with trying to set up frequent updates, even if it's mainly for myself! Just didn't have a lot that was interesting to see going on and got a little sick in the middle. But I've recently finished the course I was working through and started finally putting together the most basic form of game:
I'm sure it's going to be "Functional, but ugly" for most of it - though as long as it's actually functional, I'll be happy for now! I plugged in Cake as my sprite and they're working as intended, walking included, though the angle I drew them in is not quite right for the isometric I aim for. That's alright! But I've got the idle, walking, and dead animations set up on a basic level. The health and experience bars work and it's possible to level up, even if it doesn't mean anything yet. The tilemap is strange to work with (The assets here are from Kenny.nl! Whatever I use for prototyping that I don't make myself will probably be from here, but I'll still mention it). Colliders work with a little finagling so Cake can overlap with the walls but not walk through them. I think I'll pause to make a few WIP prototypes for the UI, just because the basic boxes are so lifeless. It's easy to get particularly overwhelmed so early on, when there's so much to do!
🌙 Six Months Later: A Little Life Update
It’s hard to believe that we’re already six months into the year.
A lot has happened since I last sat down and reflected on everything, and for once, I wanted to slow down and appreciate how far I’ve come. First, Under Oath recently crossed 9.1K reads on Wattpad, and I don’t know what to say other than thank you.
Whether you’ve been following since Under Siege, discovered the series through AO3, stumbled across it on Tumblr, or somehow found yourself falling into the rabbit hole of military romance, conspiracies, emotionally unavailable operators, and crazy family drama. Thank you for giving my little corner of the internet a chance.
As a writer, you always wonder if anyone is going to connect with the stories living inside your head. To see people reading, commenting, voting, sharing, and supporting Under Oath has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had as a creator.
Its good to be back!
Hey all!
I hope things went well for you for the latter half of the year!
Sorry I had to sort of step away for a bit last year, multiversal shenanigans will do that to you.
However, I'm back home in Sinnoh and I feel pretty refreshed!
