March 11, 2026: Queen Letizia held an audience with representatives of the Spanish Society for Palliative Care (SECPAL). The organization works to improve care and quality of life for people with advanced or terminal illnesses, as well as for their families.
Founded in 1992, SECPAL promotes the development of palliative care in Spain and brings together more than 2,400 professionals from various health and social disciplines. During the meeting, its representatives presented the current situation of palliative care in Spain and discussed the main challenges to ensuring equitable and high-quality care.
The audience reflects the Queen’s ongoing commitment to health issues, particularly the importance of providing support and care during the final stages of illness.
