ok confession time i just decided to watch etho's wild life series and this lead me to figuring out via his opening that his name is infact- etho's LAB. and not. not etho SLAB. 😔

I think it would be cool if we got/get a Citizen Sleeper game that takes place IN an Essen-Arp facility.

Like, we'd start the game going through processing, reeling from the feeling of being in a Sleeper frame, and how it feels so alien yet so natural.

We'd meet other Sleepers, and get to know them as we go through our routine tasks...

Sleeper classes would play a much bigger role in the game, I think. Each class would be working in a different part of the facility, and only have access to the parts that their class would most naturally work in. Meaning that the player would need to play through the game three times, using the different classes each time, each playthrough would have a slightly different storyline and events.

I think a good ending to the game would be us escaping the facility. Maybe with the friends we've made along the way, maybe in good health or not. Depending on the choices we make and how we perform leading up to the escape, of course.

She and Peeta had only meant it as a joke when they'd put in the paper that Mr. Abernathy had set his cap at the Hawthorne widow. Katniss knew he was only conducting business with her son that he combed his hair and put on his clean suit, but Mrs. Effie Trinket would hear none of it! She was certain there was more behind the cantankerous man's altered behavior and had prophesied an engagement come Spring to all who would listen.

Of course now Katniss is sure the woman will claim that she’d always predicted he’d be married by Spring and there, she’d be correct, for it hadn’t been twenty four hours complete that Mrs. Maysilee Abernathy had rode into town kicking up more than dust in her wake.

Prim had been eager to check in on their friend ever since the sisters had crossed paths with Mrs. Abernathy on the country road and directed her to Old Victor’s Cottage. And Katniss was loath to admit that she was just as curious.

Now they sat in an unusually clean kitchen talking to the freshly shaven man as he’d told them his tale:

Maysilee had never much liked his beloved geese and Mother Goose least of all. She could have bore the flock fine except for Mother who’d taken to stealing in the house and roosting whereever she’d liked before her master had married. But the harder she’d pushed against the beast, the more obstinate Haymitch and the goose had become.

It had all boiled over the day she’d invited the minister for tea.

Haymitch had said he’d meant to clear the troublesome fowl out of the house, but in the end, the task had gone forgotten. Mother had been perched in her favorite seat and had caused quite a scene when the minister had nearly sat on her without looking. In the end they hadn’t even argued; Maysilee silently slipped out of their home and moved in with her sister until he’d get rid of the goose, but the ultimatum had only made him all the more unmovable in his conviction.

Katniss couldn’t fathom choosing the company of Haymitch’s ornery geese over that of a spouse (or nearly any other human for the matter), but stubbornness… that she understood. Prim had once called her and Haymitch ‘kindred spirits’; when they’d scoffed in unison, it had only further proved her point.

“I had a mind to move this way for a while, but May would have none of it: Said she didn't see the point in finding the end of the earth, but with us split there was nothing keeping me from going. She only came here after having heard that ridiculous piece of gossip about me courting. Imagine!” he scoffed.

“But, now that she’s come and realized she won’t fall over the edge, she's warmed to the idea.”

Katniss thought he was rather lucky the landscape wasn’t what his wife had expected; best with no temptation to throw him over the edge.

“But Mr Abernathy, why did you let us all believe you were a bachelor?"

“Never said I was. I’d have told it to anyone who’d bothered to ask, but when has the truth ever rated over gossip?"

It usually didn’t except in this case when the truth was more absurd than imaginings.

“May and I have talked it over and now that Mother’s gone, we figure we’ll get along just fine,” he said in conclusion.

Prim sighed before plastering on a smile, “Well then Mr. Abernathy, I sincerely wish you both joy."

Katniss could tell her sister wished rather than imagined joy possible in such a marriage, but Katniss was not blind to the twinkle in Mr. Abernathy’s eye that hadn’t been there before.

Prim elbowed her, and Katniss rolled her eyes. "Yes, of course, me too… Though I'm not sure you deserve the second chance, or her," She adds riley.

Prim huffed, but the man only laughed, "you're right there. Never could. Not in a hundred lifetimes."
