Bad Bush is out !!!
Well, here is another concept art created for the “To the box and infinity”, enjoy!
So.... Let me present you my first 3D baby: Gisèle 💕💕 (yes, an anthropomorphic giraffe x) (based on Jean-Jacques Grandville illustration)) It's a school exercice, to know how to make a complete 3D movie :3 I'll post the very-short soon :)
Have a nice Sunday with an another concept art created for “To the box and infinity”!
the first image is the illustration of Grandville, the rest are my research for my exercise :)
Something’s off inside PaPa Factory… A short CGI animation about a toy factory with strange behavior. Watch V2 →https://youtu.be/a-CGCMF4fcc

REFLECTION
ANIMATED NARRATIVES
I definitely lost steam for this project over this semester. I wish I was as passionate for Blender animation as I am 2D, but I think I'm just going to have to learn that in my own time.
I'm content with my contributions to this short, but I'm not satisfied. I wish I could have pushed myself more, for a better story, better visuals in my shots. Then again, I couldn't really, due to my limited knowledge of the software and limited hardware. Learning rigging has opened up 3D animation pathways for me, and made it clearer as to how to animate in Blender. I want to try to learn Blender a bit more at my own pace over the summer holiday.
I should have better communicated with groupmates my discontent with the film's narrative early on, because I waited until feedback from a lecturer, we lost time to truly make a good film. But at least I now know my confidence with 2D animation does not easily translate over to 3D - something to keep in mind for the future.
COURSE OVERALL
Overall, I think I've done well in this course, Blender was definitely a steep learning curve for me, but I've learned to enjoy it, even on my own time. I've been a disappointed by the course content and have at times considered dropping out, but stayed for the friends connections I've made here.
I feel like, after one year in this course, I haven't achieved or done much. I'm going to try and make up for that over the summer on my own time - I'm working on a 2D short film at the moment, but I hope second year is different.
RENDERING WEEK 11-12
Due to technical limitations, I have to animate in Madcap, with only the character models, and simplify, appending the locations later on, because otherwise the file will crash. Even with these measures, the files still crash often, so I kind of have to wrangle it, and constantly save. I want to try to focus on the character animation as much as possible, leaving things like lighting and mise en scene until later on. Above is a clip rendered in Madcap, with these measures. I find it difficult to put 2D animation into 3D. With 2D, I can just draw how I want the shot to look, but 3D requires much more positioning and fiddling about. It gets frustrating.
I won't be able to use better hardware either, as when I open the files on a different computer, or even in a different location, models go missing and I don't have enough time to reanimate.
But I'll try to stay positive! I've been able to work on the animation at a good pace and the end of this project is in sight! I wish I could have done more to aid in this project's visual style, but I've done what I could. Our groupmate Sarah has done a brilliant job in that department and much of the short's visual appeal is due to her.
