I'm stressed out annoyed about alot of things including some insufferable and toxic manchildren I had the displeasure of dealing with an as such in gonna get this off of my chest and move on.

The people in question are Fantasyinvader, 9thwrither and Microlm.

The first 2 Deny Rhea's political power and complicity in Fodlan's racist attrocities against Duscur, Brigid and Sreng and the latter denies the fact that Rhea isn't against change, lacks the power to keep Fodlan stagnant after the war in Hopes and that Edelgard and the Agarthans are the only enemies to Claude.

These facts are as short and simple as 2+2 and it requires two braincells to process and yet they still willingly shove squares into circles. They still deny blatant truths and cling onto made up falsehoods that comfort solely cause of their bias problems.

Here is all of my rebuttals to their repulsive behaviour

Starting with Fantasyinvader he spouted a whole bunch of nonsense claiming that Rhea doesn't promote nationalism because he pins the blame on the other branches of the church. I rightfully pointed out that it's not the case considering the things she enabled to happen towards Duscur, Sreng, Brigid, deporting a Dagdan refugee for practicing her faith and an Almyran merchant needing to sneak in to conduct business.

In response he threw a childish temper tantrum by responding to me with a whole bunch of irrelevant junk that had nothing to do with the topic at hand, the only direct response to the topic is him claiming that Rhea is politically inferior to corrupt nobles without debubking any of my points nor providing any actual counter evidence that proves she's politically inferior ( which is the equivalent of a child plugging his fingers in his ears and screaming Nuh uh )

And if that isn't bad enough he immediately blocked me before I can actually respond to his rebutal.

Some other moronic statements he's made is that Byleth magically coddling Edelgard when she's revealed to be the flame emperor they violently despise makes sense cause the alleged theme of the game is forgiving your enemies and not seeking justice out of revenge when:

1. Proper revenge and getting justice aren't mutually exclusive

2. Byleth and Leonie still despise the Agarthans by association with Kronya alone despite already getting their revenge.

His next idiotic claim is justifying Claude's decision to ally with Edelgard against Rhea cause he's based on an opportunistic character. Something which I also debunked in my response.

This guy expects perfect planning, consistency, logic and political and moral wisdom from the same writers that refuse to call Goneril's enslavement of Cyril slavery but misuse that word for Lonato's citizens willingly joining his invasion.

And last and certaintly not least this man jumps up and down that Edelgard is meant to be a manipulative seductress that uses her charm to woo the player that failed to stay on the right path and yet he goes above and beyond to pardon Rhea of any guilt cause she's a pretty dragon lady. The irony is astounding.

Moving onto the 9thwrither this obnoxious manchild projects his blunders and detriments onto me, blocks me to prevent any retaliation towards his disrespectful comments like a coward and talks shit behind my back.

Like i said neither Fantasyinvader nor this useless idiot have said anything to debunk my points nor provide any actual counter evidence to prove their pretty fictional character is innocent. All they did is use the block button and resort to projecting insults cause their childish feelings are hurt that their favorite fictional is mildly criticised.

What makes this even more childish that these 2 and randomless love insulting and degrading characters they don't like and act like their equally repulsive faves are any better but the moment the shoe is on the other foot they get their diapers in a bunch and play the oppressed victim.

As for Microlm shes a whiny Edelgard bootlicker with a selective hate boner against Dimitri and Rhea.

She doesn't care about Claude, Petra, aggression, restitutions nor racism in the slightest. She's a virtue signaling hypocrite who only used them as props to defend her actual fave.

She harasses actual Claude fans with bad faith arguments filled with willful idiocy, deliberatel lies, double standards and cherrypicking to paint a false image that Edelgard as a logical and respectful ally and Dimitri and Rhea as detrimental villains to Claude's goals.

She does that all acting pretentious and disrespectful about it by saying she's loathe to interact with my post, whines to me that I don't use a read more, insufferable about contrived writing she doesn't like but when I simply point out the same with her precious GW im called a whiny hater that's wrong and also gets in my case for daring to make 2 posts in a day.

I came across her shit talking when she responded to one of my other posts, checked out her blog and saw her dumbass commentary about me. She can't just block me and move on with my life and yet still cries liek she's forced to interact with me.

She jumps up and down how much of a violent threat Faerghus is for aiding the 3 lords to defect to them but sugarcoats and pardons Edelgards same crime with Acheron in addition to launching a nationwide conquest against Leicester, betraying her fake goal of only being after the church and exposing her malicious intent of conquering Fodlan for herself.

She expects people to pardon Edelgard and Adrestia for their so called respect of Leicester sovereignity and restitutions and dresses up their blatant pragmatism as genuine respect as if that's supposed to invalidate the threat she poses to Claude and yet she invalidates Rhea not hindering Dimitri's effort to give genuine repeterations to Duscur and aiding them in Dedue's support with Catherine.

She whines about contrived writing benefitting Dimitri like getting Leicester from Claude and yet onto the badly written, contrived and self contradicted plotpoint of Rhea keeping Fodlan stagnant cause it benefits her bias.

She falsely accuses Dimitri and Rhea of keeping Fodlan stagnant and doing nothing for foreign nations and when I prove that they're for reforms she immediately invalidates that by moving the goal post as if Edelgard bleeding Fodlan dry and Claude being stuck in the roundtable are any better and as if they're not against any criticism to do better like in Dimitri's solo ending and his support with Yuri.

She only holds Faerghus and the church accountable for their oppression of Duscur and Sreng and yet goes out of her way to lie that Adrestia isn't responsible for Brigid's vassalization and Petra's abuse.

She only brings up Dedue's contempt for the church and yet deliberately leaves out all of Petra's contempt for Adrestia, how Brigid always has to be wary about being stuck between Fodlan and Dagda and left out Petra threatening Hubert to hold their end of the bargain in releasing Brigid from the vassalage. Infact she instead clings onto a contrived line that the empire and the church are Brigid's only friends which is false.

Even after blatantly pointing out that Rhea isn't a hurdle to Claude and Edelgard isn't his ally instead of actually providing actual proof to her claims she dances around the topic with irrelevant shit just like Fantasy invader

It's so painfully obvious it's a matter of who and not what. Swap Edelgard's place with Dimitri's and she'd sing a whole different tune.

If AM!Claude gave Leicester to queen Edelgard she'd lick the writer's shit covered boots clean for the "excellent writing". If Dimitri was the megalomaniac emperor that endangered Claude's life and got away with it she'd despise GW so deeply that she'd make me look like an avid fan.

She already has the writers cater to whiny Edelgard fans such as herself and yet she's so immature that she can't handle actual Claude fans being rightfully upset at seeing their favorite character get mistreated with a horribly written route.

I can admit I made some mistakes myself regarding nationalism, how a few foreigners being a small exception debunks the fact she promotes nationalism and claiming that Rhea doesn't support racism cause the seiros faith doesn't outright say "hate foreigners" ... Despite doesn't exclusive starts there and abusing your power to oppress marginalized race and refusing to use your power to help them also counts as racism. Which I did point out before making this weird blunder. I don't know what compelled me to make that blunder, all i can say is that I was really going through it mentally and emotionally at the time.

But unlike them I actually take responsibility for my mistakes, learn from them and change for the better. I'm not gonna attack others over a badly written video game.

I don't know about you, but I am greatly bothered that people will only criticize the flaws with 3h's racism plotlines when it means they can complain about Faerghus and the church, but don't call out Adrestia's treatment of Brigid

I won't judge anyone who hates those plotlines, but I will judge them if they have a double-standard about it

Oh, absolutely valid thing to be bothered. Even some of the people who do call it out often sugarcoat it, or have less energy and ire aimed towards Adrestia, and it ALWAYS shows.

Something ironic is that even though 3H is a massive game with a very strong and consistent creative fandom, I have had no creative spark with that game beyond discourse lol.

Of course, my type of creative output is different from most people's; I like reading into things, analyzing dialogue to recontextualize characters as a whole, look for real world analogies, hypothesize potential non-canon interactions, etc.

E.g., the Nohr siblings and their relationships with their father, with each other, or the court is never explicitly laid out in detail as to what happened. At best, you get basic extrapolations such as "we were told not to talk to Azura" or "our mothers used us as tools to curry favor and to sabotage/hurt one another."

Put those backstories and character traits against events in the story? It makes you think. Elise, Leo, and Camilla are stressed tf out and panicking over Xander and Corrin's fight during chapter 2, cuz siblings hurting each other = one's gonna die to them. Corrin choosing Hoshido or even siding with neither kingdom is a strike against Xander's ego and his built up sense of normalcy as a stoic fraternal unit trying to hold together the last remnants of his family. Camilla intertwines violence and love because she was raised receiving love and affection from her mother only after being subservient to her mom's terrible actions towards the other concubines and royal children. Leo is on Forrest's case at first because he has his on warped sense of "bringing shame and dishonor" to his family, an amalgamation of his loneliness when the other sibs focus on Corrin despite his own accomplishments and his mom most likely drilling it into his head that he has to be talented to be an honorable prince; it's little wonder he lets up on Forrest when he sees his son doing something noble and selfless like healing and attending to an entire town. Elise is an outlier because she's so young, and that either manifests as reckless, well-meaning bravery, or blubbering, immature outbursts draped in ignorance; she knows nothing beyond her supposedly good family unit other than what's been told to her second-hand, so how is she supposed to react when the rug is pulled from under her?

With 3H I don't get that kind of stuff, partly because the game is just that packed with dialogue and auxiliary comments from characters (IMO, a big reason why things seem bloated), and partly because of the way the story is delivered; since Byleth is a silent protagonist, character dialogue seesaws between having a conversation and telling/expositing at you, which results in a restrictive writing style that's actively harmful to implicit writing or subtext. There's nothing to scratch your brain about, because the game pretty much does that for you. And while many think having characters comment on story events each chapter in Garreg Mach is a positive to world building and narrative depth, I actually think the opposite, because the medium in which this dialogue and insights are given-talking to them with a silent protag who can't ever have an actual conversation-feels like I'm a scientist putting variables against each other and extracting data and information from the results, rather than a story with believable characters with lives, dreams, and relationships.

...Though, writing this out, maybe that's why it's appealing to other creatives. Maybe it's the equivalent to getting a 2,000 piece lego set, and switching only a few things around without dismantling the entire base project. The product itself is seen as art that can be altered in specific, minute ways that inspire curiosity and creative reaction.

I, on the other hand, get the most fun out of thinking about why the pieces fit together in the first place and how well they do in practice. Different strokes, I guess.

I love how this image is both an accurate summation of the "good guys" of 3Hopes, and a completely new line in Reborn, whose release date perfectly coincides with 3h discourse.

It's ironic that both Fates and 3Houses/Hopes seem to take a fair amount of inspiration from Matsuno's games, even though those games do not view people like the protagonists of Fates/3H(s) highly at all. There's actually quite a bit of lines in Tactics Ogre that just completely rip apart KT, which is really cathartic.

I need to say though, that Three Houses has way more lore and worldbuilding than Fates or Awakening. Also the supports were locked at some parts of story making it more cohesive with the character development. Overall agree that people are too lenient of 3h, they even praise Byletj for things that Corrin did.

I don't actually think 3Hs has more lore than Fates. 3Hs just info dumps it's lore so you don't have to go looking for it the way you do in Fates which doesn't mean it has more lore or even better lore just that it doesn't want to put its lore in harder to reach places.

Fates has the Concubine War that's actually explained, we see how it left a mark on characters in the current story, we know Garon was once a kind man who had a weakness for pretty women. We however don't know if Ionius did actually take Concubines for pleasure, for power, due to duty etc. We know Aqua can't tall about the Invisible Kingdom due to a curse but Edelgard leaping from "mole people tortured me fuck those lizards" makes no sense. 3Hs doesn't have more lore it just has "dates and names" but that isn't lore, that's set dressing. Each Fates nation had its own unique identity, in Japanese you learn the Nohr retainers had to drink their Lords blood to be able to serve them, Hoshido is strung up on Family and Duty and Honour, The Invisible Kingdom is chocked full of Buddhist and Indian and Chinese imagery which makes sense since it is found between Hoshido (Japan) and Nohr (Europe). Besides Faerghus (which is the only one of the 3 that feels like it has a unique identity) and the Alliance being rich there is nothing about the 3 Kingdoms in 3Hs that give them any sort of individual identity. The Alliance Maps look the same as the Adrestian Maps, even the Faerghus Maps don't look that visually interesting (and yes lore can be delivered visually, by failing to make the Three Kingdoms look and feel unique that is a failure on the part of the game to build up this world and the lore surrounding it).

The supports locking only really makes it more coherent because 3Hs has a timeskip so things like Caspars later supports with Byleth wouldn't make sense if unlocked before the timeskip BUT Fates doesn't have a Timeskip so theirs no need to lock supports for that game. 3Hs still has things like Post Timeskip Dimitri being able to still get his supports with Sylvain that read really out of character for a man who's just pulled himself back from the brink of a PTSD meltdown. 3Hs still has plenty of gimmicky supports that feel out of place.

So honestly anon this ask is just another example of being more lenient with 3Hs. It doesn't have more lore than Fates and it certainly doesn't have better lore than Fates. It has different sort of story telling, it's more in your face with its "mysteries" and its lore dumps to solve those mysteries.

I’ve been seeing some discourse among my mutual (I think that’s the right term here?) regarding the supports between Edelgard and Caspar. Which I found interesting, because even two years ago when I saw them for the first time, I ALWAYS had an issue with them. 

Now, there are plenty of supports I take issue with, and not just Edelgard’s. Plenty do not seem to stick with the through line, taking strange paths to get to undeserved outcomes. The beginning and ends feel disconnected, or character elements that seem important are dropped in favor of something trivial, such as Hilda’s racism quietly being dropped in her support with Cyril, never to be properly addressed. There could be a number of reasons for these weaknesses in the support writings, but I’m not interested in delving into them today. Instead, I would rather focus on my own view on Edelgard and Caspar’s supports, and how they ultimately fail to be satisfyingly. 

Let’s start with the C support. In order to break down why the support fails, we need to understand how it ultimately starts, and what it sets up. 

The C Support

The Set-Up: The support begins with Caspar training. Edelgard walks in, and notes his work ethnic. She offers both a compliment - that any student would be would be given a tough fight against him - and a piece of advice - Not to overdo his training. Caspar thanks Edelgard, then goes on to say that he cannot stop training, because if he wants to get anywhere in this world, he needs to get better. 

This leads into a Edelgard remembering that Caspar is the second son of House Bergliez, which Caspar confirms. He goes on to state that his older brother is the heir, and because there are so many members of his family that he cannot count on support. 

The Purpose of the Support: This is when the heart of the support starts. Edelgard states this:

I understand. It’s difficult being born a noble. Those who inherit everything also inherit great burdens, but the same can be said of those who inherit nothing. 

Caspar follows up with thus: 

What are you talking about? I don’t have any troubles. Who cares if I don’t inherit anything? It just means I get to cut a path of my own future. 

You know what your problem is, Edelgard? You always have to make everything about you.

This is the real meat of the support. Edelgard’s line “it’s difficult being born a noble” is a projection on Edelgard’s part. She is projecting that being a noble must be difficult for Caspar, because he does not get to claim the prizes of his house. It is not hard to see that she views her life as a noble as a hardship, as she often talks about how difficult her path is, how she has inherited a great burden. To her, the caste system has failed Caspar despite being born in a position of wealth and power, and that makes him a victim to be pitied.

But Caspar rejects her claims. After all, she is not him, so how could she know how he must feel about it? He does not view himself as a victim. He’s perfectly content with his lot in life. He then follows up with insight, that is rather somewhat out of character for him, that she is making his situation about her. 

The End: Edelgard asks if Caspar is looking for a fight (or if part II, states he is being disrespectful), but Caspar insists he did not mean to be. She decides to leave the conversation, because she has “no desire to bicker with you.” 

A somewhat odd statement, as they were not really bickering yet. In other words, this line applies that Edelgard completely disagrees with Caspar’s view on himself, and his words about her own narcissism. Instead of talking it through with him, she choses just to leave. 

Conclusion of the C Support: This support sets up a chance for growth on Edelgard’s part. Every character in the game as at least one support where another character teaches them a lesson to some degree. Felix has one with Seteth, Claude has one with Cyril. This is meant to be one of Edelgard’s.

It sets up that Edelgard is pushing her own views of victimhood onto others she feels should feel wronged. That not everyone may share in those views, and there can be room for discussion without hateful fighting. This was Edelgard being called out. 

And with that, we move onto the next segment of this support. 

The B Support

The Set-Up: Edelgard wastes no time asking Caspar if he would have been happier if he was heir to House Bergliez. Caspar says he would have, but his brother probably would not have been pleased. Caspar likes his brother and would hate to cause him trouble, so in the end, probably would not be very happy as a result. 

Edelgard tells Caspar that his older brother is not a good man. He’s “lazy and greedy and has always relied on the knowledge that he would inherit a title. That’s my impression of him, anyway”. 

Caspar confirms that she isn’t technically too far off. But there is reason for his brother’s behavior. His grandfather was obsessed with his second wife, who had a son who she really wanted to become the heir. But his grandfather stepped down sooner than expected, so the title when to Caspar’s father instead. As a result, Caspar’s brother is still worried about having his future taken from him. 

(On a personal note, I find this reasoning rather odd. I believe the implication here is that Caspar’s brother is lazy because he might not inherit anything at all. And yet, is worried about having his future taken from him. Would that not invoke, then, someone into needing to prove himself? And on a further note still, this does not align with Edelgard’s description of him. How could Caspar’s brother rely on the knowledge that he would inherit a title, but he actually fears losing it? It’s odd writing, since Caspar seems to be supporting her claim, but his words actually are contradictory.)

The Purpose of the Support: Edelgard again turns the conversation about heirs and inheritance. 

Edelgard: That’s the price of taking your own desires into account when choosing an heir. The concept of nobility is decaying, and it’s dragging the Empire into the ground with it. 

Caspar: Wow, this conversation is really going there. You may be right, but it’s not like the world is ever going to change, right?

Edelgard: It must. I intend to create a world where the best are free to rise to the top and succeed, regardless of their bloodline. The nobility as it is now could not exist in a world like that. I’ll make sure of it. 

Caspar: What do you think would happen to me in that kind of world? Would you appoint me as a general or Minister of Military Affairs? 

Edelgard: If you were the best suited for that position, I would.

Caspar: Right, so my life would pretty much stay the same. I’d still have to train, get stronger, and use my abilities to cut my own path. 

This support dialogue is about Edelgard’s visions of the future, that it is a problem that people place personal desires over objectivity when it comes to who will rule. The best should be chosen, not by the whims of those in power. 

But Caspar notes that his life truly would be no different that it was before. In either system, he still has to work hard. Nothing will be handed to him either way. 

The End: Caspar states he will fight for Edelgard, and Edelgard remains pretty quiet to his bold statements about his path. 

Looking at the C to B Support

There is already an issue with this support, because the through line that C supposedly was supposed to set up does not match what was followed up in B. In fact, it’s all over the place. Messy, as if it’s trying to tackle multiple things at once.

How the current nobility system is failing

The C support sets up the idea that Edelgard is wrong in her views on Caspar’s “victimhood”, while touching on the issues of inheritance in Adrestia. 

However, the B support solely focuses on the issues with the nobility. Edelgard makes a rather heartless statement about Caspar’s older brother, and then upon hearing the explanation, makes it about her great plan. She is continuing to make it about herself, while abandoning the seemingly important point of the C support - Edelgard’s narcissism. 

It would be easy to think that Caspar’s statement about how it does not affect him holds any meaning in this conversation, but ultimately, it does not. He’s not calling her out, or finding fault in her ideals. He’s simply stating that it won’t affect him. And this is true. But this type of thinking is not meaningful in this case.

It would be akin to me not caring about women’s rights. Whether women can get abortions or not does not affect me in the slightest. This is not meaningful to the discussion of women’s health. This is apathetic. I am not contributing to any conversation.

The through-line for these supports, then, is not about Edelgard’s narcissism, but how the noble system prevents the best people for the job to rise to the top. But in her new system, Caspar would be able to gain power, and he would not have to do anything different. 

The summary of the supports so far looks like this:

Edelgard: You work hard. 

Caspar: Thanks! I have to keep working hard to get anywhere in this world.

Edelgard: You’re the second son. That’s hard. That’s a burden to bear, just like those who inherit titles. 

Caspar: No, it’s not. I’m fine. Man, it’s not about you. 

Edelgard: I’m not going to fight with you.

Leaves. Later - 

Edelgard: Hey, would you be happier being the heir?

Caspar: Sure, but then my brother won’t be happy, so I won’t be happy either. 

Edelgard: He’s lazy and greedy, in my opinion.

Caspar: Kinda, but he’s worried about losing his claim to his inheritance. 

Edelgard: That’s because the nobility system is flawed. Under my changes, people can rise no matter their bloodline.

Caspar: What about me?

Edelgard: You have to git gud.

Caspar: So it doesn’t affect me now in what I do. 

I hope it’s clear how these don’t seem to be connecting other than Edelgard’s hatred for the nobility. 

The A Support

The Set-Up: Caspar starts the support asking why Edelgard isn’t looking at him weird anymore. Edelgard comments that he can shocking with his keen insight from time to time, then we get this:

Edelgard: Is it? you only have yourself to blame for the reputation. As for me, I’ve always thought of you as something of a victim. 

Caspar: What is that supposed to mean?!

Edelgard: I mean you’re a victim of Fodlan’s antiquated system of nobility. You’re skilled and you work hard, yet you still play second fiddle to your less capable older brother. Even still, you fight on not allowing yourself to be discouraged by it all. People like you help to fuel my fire. If I can only smash this rotten system, I could save you. 

Caspar: You’ve always got a lot to say about your grand plans for the future... 

Edelgard: Just hear me out. I’ve realized... that I was wrong about you.

We are now getting that set up from all the way from the C support, where Edelgard is actually admitting to being wrong about something. But about what? She still blatantly called him victim of the system. That she could save him, people LIKE him. So, where does this lead? 

The Purpose of the Support: Edelgard explains herself:

I can now see that you've found a way to live the life you want to live. Simply put, you love working hard, and you love training. You don't know the meaning of surrender. I never thought such a genuine person could really exist.

This is important here. She is not apologizing for seeing him as a victim. She is saying that she was wrong about him because he works hard. Nowhere in the supports did she state that she felt he was lazy. In fact, she compliments his work ethnic at the beginning of the C support!

That is not the lesson this support set up! This is unsatisfying. The logic that flows between the supports is flimsy at best. How did Edelgard come to the conclusion that Caspar was genuine when that wasn’t how everything started? She never questioned his nature. She assumed his feelings on inheritance! These ideas do not connect. 

But then, there is more. Caspar then has to have his own revelation about Edelgard: 

That's a lot to take in...you're not too far off though. I try to live life the way I want to. I wasn't that way when we first met, but I've changed since then. Nowadays, what you see is what you get.

Not really sure what he means - Caspar has always wore his heart on his sleeve and lived the way he wanted to. 

Edelgard: It doesn't matter that you have burdens to bear. Despite that, you never stray from your path. You don't let anything tie you down. I can hardly imagine a life like that. To be honest, I'm a bit jealous.

Caspar: Well, I don't think I could live the way you do, but I admire you for sticking to it. You never let your burdens get you down. You try to push through them instead. If I'm being honest, I changed my mind about you a while back.

Edelgard: Is that so?

Caspar: You can be real critical of yourself, and you admit it when you make a mistake.

Edelgard: That's true. I certainly make mistakes, but I feel it's important to own up to them.

Where did this come from?! Edelgard apologized for something that she never even did in the supports. She still called him a victim and he completely ignored it, then praised her for being so great! She literally did not own up to her very first mistake, ever. 

The End: Caspar says he will continue to carve a path for her. Edelgard thanks him for cutting the way for her. 

So, What’s The Conclusion? 

Let’s recap the entire support again: 

Edelgard: You work hard.

Caspar: Thanks! I have to keep working hard to get anywhere in this world.

Edelgard: You’re the second son. That’s hard. That’s a burden to bear, just like those who inherit titles.

Caspar: No, it’s not. I’m fine. Man, it’s not about you.

Edelgard: I’m not going to fight with you.

Leaves. Later -

Edelgard: Hey, would you be happier being the heir?

Caspar: Sure, but then my brother won’t be happy, so I won’t be happy either.

Edelgard: He’s lazy and greedy, in my opinion.

Caspar: Kinda, but he’s worried about losing his claim to his inheritance.

Edelgard: That’s because the nobility system is flawed. Under my changes, people can rise no matter their bloodline.

Caspar: What about me?

Edelgard: You have to git gud.

Caspar: So it doesn’t affect me now in what I do.

End of convo. Sometime later - 

Caspar: You are looking at me like I’m normal!

Edelgard: I thought you were dumb but you shock me sometimes.

Caspar: Hey!

Edelgard: You are a victim. You are better than your bro but you still are overlooked. You encourage me to save you and others like you. 

Caspar: Man, about your grand plans again...

Edelgard: I was wrong. You don’t give up. Nothing ties you down. 

Caspar: Wow, thanks. But I could never live the way you do. You are awesome too. You admit to your mistakes.

Edelgard: I do. 

Caspar: Now I’ll keep cutting your path for you!

Edelgard: Thanks!

Nothing about this support is satisfyingly. It’s pretty bad, to say the least. It lacks a strong cohesive between them, jumbling up the dialogue into a messy conclusion that does not feel earned. You start with Edelgard insisting Caspar is a victim, then talking about how her system will still have him need to work hard, then deciding that she was wrong because he works hard, while still insisting he’s a victim. 

No real lessons were learned, other than Edelgard realizing genuine people could exist? That’s such a weird lesson for this support chain to have. If anything, this support exists to explain Edelgard’s plans and how it would affect (or not affect) people like Caspar. But it didn’t start out that way. 

So yes. This isn’t a very good support chain. I hope this explanation made sense. The support it messy, so it was hard to articulate.
