Girls collect autographs from a bunch of half dressed Beatles “backstage” at Stowe School, in Stowe, Buckinghamshire, on 4th April 1963. Stowe School was a boys only public school that the Beatle performed at on the same date.

The Beatles play Roxburgh Hall at Stowe School, on 4th April 1963, one of their most unusual live shows. 

Stowe School in Stowe, Buckinghamshire was a public school (public school in the UK are the schools you pay tuition for). A pupil at the school, David Moores from Liverpool, wrote to Brian Epstein to ask The Beatles to perform. Brian was impressed and agreed to the booking. The Beatles played in the school's Roxburgh Hall to rows of well behaved, seated public school boys and not a single scream was heard.

Love is effortless

a feeling that rises

as surely as a tide

rushing up the beach

you cannot resist it

Love is exhausting

a force to work

as tough as kneading dough

punch, push, pull

but the result!

Love is flying a kite

sweating to get it

off the ground

then when the winds

align -

it takes off

beautifully soaring

instinct and technique

to pull and let go

guiding it through

dips and flips

rein in before it runs away

release before it snaps

when will i

get to fly too?
