Ancient

The hardest part isn’t making something new, it’s making the new thing seem old. Creating a world that doesn’t feel like it was created. I want a reader to touch down in the dust and feel like there’s a history that’s played out over the centuries, over the millenia. That each speck of that dust has not simply manifested here for the sake of entertainment, but has taken its own journey through existence to arrive where it is seen. 

Have you ever thought of things in these terms? That to manifest is to manufacture history? That anything new, in order to exist, must necessarily be comprised of ancients?

This was one of my favorite mchanzo/yeehan fics ever. The concept of fake dating is fun to read on its own, but when you mix it with an undercover mission in an HOA neighbourhood, it’s even more so. I definitely recommend giving this one a go! It made me laugh out loud, and I binged the whole thing the first time I read it.

Definitely on the lighter, more comedic end. The stakes are high, but not crazy high. The writing style is also very pleasant to read!

YES it’s another voewelinthug work. YES it’s in st. augustine universe. What of it.

If you haven’t read st. augustine is that way and you’re a Black Sails fan hopelessly invested in Silverflint, then you are missing out!! Seriously, go read it, I can’t recommend it highly enough. 

orange you glad is set in the same universe and is more or less a lot of epilogue vignettes set after the plot of the main story, so, basically what it says on the tin. They’re all so lovely, though. It’s like being able to extend the comfort of the first fic (and any drama) even more, but not too much more!! vowelinthug is really good at ending it before it becomes too much, which I admire.

Seriously. Go read st. augustine is that way already.
