Emrie's Birthday Interview
This goes with Day 27 of my 50 Days of TWST series!
🐉 is Malleus and 🌸 is Emrie
🌸: *waiting in Ramshackle with her flowers* “I’m so glad I got so many presents today. The dorm looks much more like home with all of this. ☺️ But I’m a bit tired after that big party… 🥱 Hopefully I won’t fall asleep during my interview-“
🐉: *✨poof👻* “Hello again, Child of Man. 😊”
🌸: *🤩* “Tsunotaro! Hello! Back so soon? Did you forget something? Did you want more cake?” *hugggg 🤗*
🐉: *ah yes hug ☺️* “Actually, I am your interviewer. I hope I may bring you luck for the coming year.”
🌸: “So the dice picked you? 😄”
🐉: “Hmm…The ‘birthday dice’ may perhaps have been…encouraged, just a bit. With magic. Mine.”
🐉: “Let us not dwell on the details. 🙃 Today is meant for you. And I have brought you a gift.”
🌸: “Another one? 😅 You already gave me the flowers for the birthday bouquet, and a lot of treasures.” *motions to one of the couches, which is full of gems that one might expect to see in a dragon’s lair, not a dusty piece of furniture*
🐉: “That was simply an investment in your state of affairs. 🙃 I do hope you’ll redo this wallpaper here to be the same color as the sapphires.”
🌸: “Wouldn’t paint swatches be…cheaper, as a gift? 😅”
🐉: “The absurdity of you insinuating that I would be ‘cheap’ concerning a gift to one I hold dear is as much amusing as it is ridiculous. 🙃”
🌸: “Oh. 😳 Hehe, sorry for saying that, then.”
🐉: “I will accept your apology so long as you accept yet another gift. 😊” *hands over the dragon plushie*
🌸: “Oh!! A plushie? 🤩 Wait—is this the one I mentioned to Sebek when we went to Epel’s hometown? 👀 Because they didn’t have any patterns for dragon plushies—”
🐉: “Yes, he informed me of your desire to have a stuffed dragon. Quite the flattering sentiment. I had to honor your request, of course.”
🌸: *HUG THE PLUSHIE* “But I—I didn’t request anything to him or you… 🥹”
🐉: “You did not need to.” *headpat for Child of Man* “Is it to your liking? You seem to be greatly enjoying it.”
🌸: *nods* “Yes! I love it! Thank you, Tsunotaro! I’ll have to tell Sebek thank-you, too, when I see him tomorrow…But—these colors on the plushie… 👀 It has the same green eyes that you do. Is it—?”
🐉: “Yes, I made it to resemble how I appear in my fully-dragon form.”
🌸: “Really?! It’s so beautiful! 🤩 You really have to let me see your dragon form sometime! 😮”
🐉: “Perhaps I will. One day. But for now, let us focus on the day before us. I ought not allow you to fawn over my draconic self when today is meant to be about you. Happy birthday, Emrie. ☺️”
🐉: “Of course. Now, what say we begin the interview? I must say, I am rather disappointed that there are only three questions that I must ask you. There is much I wish to learn about you, Child of Man.”
🌸: “Oh…well, I don’t know how much I could tell you. 😅 I don’t remember anything about myself, after all… 🙁”
🐉: “You needn’t recall any detail from your past. I know you—as you are now. Besides, the questions are not those of what is behind us. They seem to all be about preference. Do you think you can answer them?”
🐉: “Very well. I shall take heed to all that you choose to reveal to me. Now, onto the first question. ‘Which NRC student would you want as a sibling—and it can’t be someone from your dorm—and why?’”
🌸: “A sibling? Oh… 😯 Well, the siblings on campus that I know are always together. Idia barely goes anywhere without Ortho, and Jade and Floyd are together a lot. So a sibling for me would be someone I’m with all the time? 🤔 Well, it’d have to be a brother, at this school... 😄”
🐉: “Quite right. It must be difficult for you at times, to be surrounded by young boys. And the first-years, no less. I have witnessed how…rowdy they can be.”
🌸: “They’re just fun! 😁 And it is hard sometimes. 🤷♀️ But I like this place, even if I’m the odd one out…in more ways than one.”
🐉: “Fret not. Your lack of magic has not seemed to matter much to anyone here. They seem to treat you as an equal…and with a bit more respect, I believe. Perhaps it is because you are so kind—which is also a novelty in this institution.”
🌸: “Hehe… ☺️ Oh! I haven’t answered the question yet…”
🐉: “Truly? You are quite the distraction. 🙂 Well, then, continue—who would you like as a sibling?”
🌸: “Ummmm…Ah! I would have to pick Silver.”
🐉: “Silver? 👀 I would ask you why, per an interview’s continuously-inquisitive nature, but this answer does not surprise me. You spend quite a lot of time with him.”
🌸: “It’s because I think he acts like an older brother sometimes. He’s always very calm and collected…and keeps Sebek in line, too. And Silver looks after me all the time! But…” *😅* “I do have to try and bring him back to Sebek or Lilia when he falls asleep, you know. He’s a big brother who needs a little help sometimes! 😊”
🐉: *smiles* “And I know he appreciates your kindness—and that he gets to have a cozy little nap by your side when you find him. He does not often get true rest, despite his sleepy nature…I suspect his desire to push himself to his very limit to improve is the reason. But he seems so peaceful with you.”
🌸: “Maybe it’s because I’m an easier person to keep track of and protect, Tsunotaro! 🙃 I don’t go off disappearing in a cloud of fireflies to the school rooftops to look at gargoyles…”
🐉: *chuckles* “Touché. I realize that I do give him and Sebek grief often when I vanish. But sometimes I value my time alone. But you, canary, have made me realize how much it affects them. The peace they have with you eases the anxiety that grips them when I am gone.”
🌸: “Good. ☺️ I don’t like seeing them so worried. 😅 Hm, but if I pick Silver, Sebek is his brother, so he would end up being my sibling, too!”
🐉: “Mm? Do you believe that Silver and Sebek are siblings?” *amused*
🌸: “Well, I know they aren’t blood-related… 😅 But you can’t know them and not see them as brothers.”
🐉: “Once again, a substantial point on your part. You are quite insightful for a human, Child of Man.”
🌸: “Hehe…But, Sebek sometimes acts more like a little brother around the rest of Diasomnia. You all tease him sometimes. 🤭 So, as my final answer: if I could choose any student—or, students!—to be my siblings, I’d pick Silver and Sebek. 🙂”
🐉: “Excellent. One question down.”
🌸: “You can always stay and ask me more once the ‘official’ interview is done. 🙂”
🐉: “I was planning to anyways, but your invitation is graciously accepted. Now, onto the second question. If you had to switch dorms, which one would you want to transfer to, and why?”
🌸: *🤩🤩🤩🤩* “Diasomnia! I’d want to transfer to Diasomnia!!”
🐉: “My, how flattering that you wish to be in my own dorm. 😊 You are truly bold, Child of Man, to openly wish to be around me.”
🌸: “Hehe… 😊 Oh, but don’t tell Vil…he may not be happy that I answered so enthusiastically about transferring dorms. 😅”
🌸: “Vil is…rather set on me staying in Pomefiore. He says it’s the ‘most proper dorm for a young lady to be housed in’.”
🐉: “Hm. I seem to be grasping what his reasoning may be. Is it perhaps because Pomefiore has many more available amenities for a lady to upkeep the standard of beauty the dorm values?”
🌸: “I think it’s part of that.” *shrugs* “I think he also meant that the students act with more manners?”
🐉: “That also is reasonable. How regrettable it would have been if you had been taken into, say, Savanaclaw.”
🐉: “Now, would you divulge to me the reason you chose Diasomnia as your answer?”
🌸: “Well, I really love Diasomnia. As you probably know. ☺️The dorm is very beautiful, the people are kind to me, and my friends are there! 😊”
🐉: “May I be so presumptuous as to fancy you count me as a friend?”
🌸: “What? Of course I do!! Did you not think so, Tsunotaro? 🥺”
🐉: “Forgive me, I did not wish to make it seem as though I doubted our friendship, or anything further. I only wanted to hear you say it yourself, that I was a friend to you. 🙂”
🌸: “Whew. 😅 Anyway…I love you and your family very much, and being in the same dorm as you, Lilia, Silver, and Sebek would be so fun! But I wouldn’t want to have to eat Lilia’s cooking…Don’t tell him I said that, either. 😅 He still thinks that I liked his ‘clam chowder surprise’. My stomach was certainly…surprised. 😖”
🐉: “Your secret is quite safe with me. I am of the same opinion. 🙃Now, onto the final question. If you could take any one person to a deserted island—not someone from your dorm—who would it be and why?”
🌸: “An island…? Oh, Jade! 😄 He can turn into his mer form and swim away to find help.”
🐉: “Hm, clever little thing, you are. ☺️ But why did you not choose me, if you wanted an easy escape? I’m sure you are well aware of my teleportation magic. I could bring us back home sooner than Leech can flip his tailfin.”
🌸: “Well, he also can find which plants are safe to eat. But he may get distracted trying to find rare mushrooms, and we could end up missing a rescue boat… 😶”
🐉: “Ah, so you planned for both escape and the off-chance you would have to remain on the island. 👀 Clever, indeed.”
🌸: *✨😊* “But at least Jade wouldn’t try to eat me if he got too hungry like Floyd might. 😄 At least…I THINK Jade wouldn’t do that. 😥”
🐉: “Who can say, with those eccentric brothers. Well. That wraps up your interview. Are you prepared for the ‘good luck gift’ I must bestow upon you? 🙃”
🌸: “Oh…the pie-to-the-face? 😅 I-I guess so… 😓”
🐉: “Very well. Close your eyes.”
🌸: “So I don’t get pie in them? Okay…” *(u_u)*
🐉: *raises his hand, with his sparkly green magic ✨* “For the year ahead of you, I wish you all fortune, and that your every wish may be granted to you. May you live this coming year in all health and happiness. Night’s Blessing.”
🌸: *opens her eyes* “Wha—you didn’t pie me in the face?? :O And…and you gave me a fae blessing?!”
🐉: *😊* “I did not mean to deceive you of my intention of bestowing an…unorthodox gift of luck upon you. I merely wanted to surprise you. Happy birthday, my dearest Child of Man.”
🌸: “..Thank you, Tsunotaro.. 😊”
