El 5 de agosto de 1966 The Beatles estrenaron su séptimo disco de estudio. Revolver fue el último álbum lanzado antes de que la banda decidiera abandonar los escenarios en busca de la experimentación en estudios y mejoramiento de su estilo. Revolver significó un gran avance en producción y ejecución; por ejemplo en la canción “I’m Only Sleepling”, el efecto de la guitarra, idea de John Lennon, inauguró el sonido de una guitarra al revés. Canciones como "Tomorrow Never Knows" siguen siendo inspiración para músicos y productores. Eso sin mencionar clásicos como "Yellow Submarine" o "Eleanor Rigby".
