Summary: After Chris tells Eddie he called Helena and Ramon and asked them if he could spend his summer vacation in El Paso, Eddie calls Buck and he drops everything, so he can be there for Eddie the same way he always is.
Here's a snippet of Buck taking care of Eddie after Ramon and Helena leave with Chris.
“Love you too, dad. Bye.”
Eddie starts moving towards the front door and Buck’s right behind him. He puts his hand on Eddie’s shoulder and for several moments, they’re frozen in place. They stay like that until they hear the trunk followed by three car doors close and when the rental car pulls away from the curb, Eddie breaks.
He collapses to his knees but Buck’s right there to catch him. He wraps his arms around him and he immediately starts whispering reassurances into his ear.
“He just needs some space, Eddie.”
Eddie’s crying so hard he’s hyperventilating.
“Just stay with me, ok?” Buck asks.
Eddie nods his head but he can’t speak. When he tries, the only name that comes out is “CHRIS!!!” Then he screams it over and over again until his voice is hoarse.
Buck holds onto him and he never let's go.
“Eddie, I’m right here and I’m not going anywhere.”
“BU—CK! I BROKE IT AND—AND I—I… CAN’T FIX IT! I’M BRO—KEN TOO.”
“We’ll fix it together. Me and you!”
