So, here's a conversation I had yesterday with a @BNBuzz Barnes&Noble Employee.
I was at Barnes and Noble yesterday. Since I had my Laptop with me, I figured I'd get some work done while having a Coffee. The internet connection speed was slow, but there weren't that many people using it in the Cafe. It's probably an 802.11 B router that was installed 10 years ago. A lot of national-chain companies have not invested in the latest N Routers, or even those using the G Standard. These letters have to do with connection speed and how far the signal reaches.
So, I politely walked up to a Barnes and Noble employee. Not a Cafe Employee, a real Bookstore Employee. This woman, who clearly had a mustache, was about 50 or 60 years old. Great, she might be a manager, so she should probably know where a Wireless Router is located in the store that she works in 5 days a week.
Me: "Hi, I was sitting in the Cafe, and the internet connection speed was a little slow. Can you please tell me where the Router is, so I can sit closer to it?"
Barnes and Noble Employee: "We don't have a Router, but I know we do have WiFi." (With a look on her face that stated "You're crazy for asking.")
Me: "Thank You." (As I walk directly out of a store who's own employees don't even understand that a Wireless Router is basically essential to having WiFi.) #Moron
