So a year ago, I started to really get back into a regular fitness routine. I fell out of it with the busy holidays but started again in the beginning of 2018. Of course I decided to do the hardest thing possible (because that's what I do) and started with INSANITY. I got through the first phase with lots of cursing and sweat, however, I hit phase 2 and it was not nice to my knees. I also ended up with shingles in the middle of this. So I pretty much stopped. Then I did 80 Day Obsession for about 3 weeks and for some reason, I took a whole month off from pretty much anything (yoga may have been thrown in here or there). I also think that was the month I got hit with two terrible colds back to back. But I started up 80DO again at the end of April. This time I was determined to not give up, even if I missed a day in the middle of the week. My slight OCD had a really hard time with checking off a Monday when it was really a Friday on my workout calendar. But I kept up with it. It may have taken me more like 100 days to complete the program, BUT I DID IT. I kid you not, I became OBSESSED with working out. I became irritable if I didn't get my workout in for the day (mainly because it meant my Sunday wasn't a complete rest day and arg, I believe in at least one weekend day to be completely free). It's been a hard but fun 80 days. Lots of swear words were shouted from the depths of the basements. TONS of sweat...and some moments where I thought I was going to puke...one time I actually did. But guess what...I DIDN'T DIE! (I had my inhaler handy at all times and paused when I had to take it). I want to thank my girl Mel for getting me started on this path. I needed a way to be held accountable for workouts and she was my motivation to just do it. And she happens to be Beachbody coach so that was a plus and my way to be a part of a group where I could share my daily struggles and little victories along the way. And if I write any more, I won't be able to tag or hashtag people here on Instagram.
