My Journey from Fat to Fit
In 2013 I took a real good look at myself. I was 21 years old and weighed 295 lb. I looked terrible, I felt terrible and I was fighting depression. I wasn’t happy in my life at all and it showed on the outside. I lived alone, had little to no friends. Whet to work, went home. That was it. It was sad, it really was. I remember sitting in my bathroom at night and crying because I never thought my life would get any better. I had no dreams, no motivation and no drive. I smoked, I drank, I ate all the time and I hurt myself everyday.
But sometimes when you hit rock bottom, you have no where to go but up. Loosing weight and changing your life style is a very personal thing. No matter what people say to you, no matter how much they try to help... none of it makes a damn difference until you are ready to make a change for yourself. You have to get to a certain spot mentally before you are ready to make such a huge change in your life.
I was to embarrassed to go to a gym. I thought I would get made fun of and people would judge me. Moving was hard with all that extra weight and it didn’t take long for me to get out of breath. I started slow and ate healthier. I used an app to track my calories each day. I started doing some yoga at home and getting off the bus a few stops early and walking the rest of the way to work. When I gained enough confidence in myself, I joined Curves. My experience there was okay. I still felt judged and embarrassed but not as bad as it would have been at a regular gym. They have a structured circuit so when you have no idea what you are doing it makes it easier. This was just the beginning for me...
I stopped drinking. I stoped smoking, I stopped beating myself up for everything and I started loving myself when no one else did. I started cheering myself on. I went out for runs, I started working at home more. I switched over to a vegetarian diet.
Over the course of the next 2 years, I lost 100 lbs. it defiantly was not easy and I struggled everyday. I cried more than I was happy. But I pushed through. I went from 295 lb to 195 lb and I was so damn proud of myself.
Unfortunately life took over. Things happened and my depression came back. I had a miscarriage and my relationship ended. I gained 40 lb back and reached 235 lb by the end of 2015.
From 2015 to now I have half assed tried to loose it. Yes I worked out, yes I watched what I ate... but then I would also eat an entire pizza. I would indulge way too often. I’d skip my workout when I had a headache, when I was tired, when I was even slightly inconvienced. I would make a million excuses for myself before I would do anything. Somehow I managed to get back to 195 lb this month (December 2018).
But enough is enough!
I am currently starting week 3 of 80 day obsession. I AM NOT MAKING EXCUSES ANYMORE! In order to get where you want to be you need to work for it. You need to hold yourself accountable and love yourself along the way. There is always a hundred reasons not do something, but it’s about finding the hundred and one reasons why you SHOULD.
My new motto is ADJUST AND REFOCUS.

Skipped a workout? Adjust and refocus.
The unexpected happens? Adjust and refocus.
Never give up on yourself guys! WE CAN DO THIS!
