The cloth is off the loom and washed.
Tencel, wool and bamboo dip dyed warp. Tencel and bamboo Weft. Crêpe weave on 8 shafts from Oelsner, a book I have had since 1970 also available @handweaving.net. The cloth is more golden than appears here.

Threading up the floor loom 56 ends in and there’s a lot to go.
Hand-dyed tencel. It is a complicated draft and I am fully expecting to find errors when I begin to weave.
This was a piece woven in late 2018 for a friend. It was a very cathartic experience because my parents-in-law were having to sell their house which had become our family home and at the same time my mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer. Weaving this and focusing on the interplay of colour and weave helped me find some sense of calm in the chaos that I had become embroiled in.
Experimenting with different weft yarns on a handdyed warp of tencel, wool and bamboo yarns.
The cloth is washed, rinsed and pressed. The result is a softer wool and the cloth drapes well but I’m not sure whether the cloth needs to be fulled. 4-line manifold twill.
I have cut off part off the warp and washed it.
There has been little loss of colour from the dyed tencel and the tencel and merino has a wonderful drape and handle.
Onwards! Hot work in this weather. Extended twill.
More sampling on this very long hand-dyed tencel warp. Weft of tencel yarn and linen/polypropylene yarn.
