christopher eccleston do you know that i would die for you (1 2)
I have many thoughts and feelings about Jackie in aliens of london/ww3, but one of the things I’m getting hung up on is that little moment at the end as rose is about to leave, where she tells rose that she’s told her grandmother (presumably Jackie’s mother) that rose had been in France au pairing
which is such a bad and obvious lie. and the thought of Jackie having to cover up and brush over and move on from what happened with her family, friends, everyone she knows (except mickey) because she can’t possibly tell the truth is just.
and these people, for a year, seeing Jackie’s anguish over Rose’s disappearance, and then suddenly it’s like “she was in france :) au pairing :) it’s fine :)”
duality of the doctor coming into contact with daleks
chris eccleston aroace doctor warrior. we've got another one guys
it’s striking me how in “Dalek”, Rose isn’t privy to the time war background, or the doctor’s interactions with the dalek, until the very end of the episode
She hasn’t heard of the daleks before, she doesn’t know they were involved in the time war, she doesn’t witness the doctor’s initial encounter with the dalek, she has pretty minimal interaction with him for most of the episode
So she presumably doesn’t know how personal the stakes are for the doctor until he shows up with a gun
does anyone have any thoughts about how long there is between the episode Dalek and the previous episode(s)? A few days? A week or two? More?
Wondering because in-universe, the first 5 episodes of the season that are preceding it take place over the course of just a few days, so while obviously they’re very intense about each other from the jump, im interested in how much of a chance they would’ve had to get a bit more familiar with each other and fall into a routine wrt the traveling
every time I watch boom town I wonder what torchwood jack is up to during all of it.
the hub is Right There! The Tardis parks on top of it! The rift opens!
He’s definitely aware all this is happening, and he just has to stay out of the way and not get involved knowing that the doctor is right on top of him!
