Tarragon considered himself reasonable, he considered himself intelligent, and he considered himself an authority figure due to his rank. Commander. Blueberry had demoted himself to give him this rank, Thahali found him to be better for the role, he had full respect from Most places they visited. Unfortunately that did not include other clones, Especially other clones in powerful positions. Which led to the current conundrum on Christophsis,
Thahali had mentioned to some of the other Jedi about the crystal city recovery project and had caught the attention of General Skywalker. One thing led to another and now they had some extra hands to help with recovery. Tarragon groaned as a loud crash sounded from another room, followed by a soft “ uh oh”, he stood up and rubbed his temples, mentally preparing himself to talking to the military men. A hand on his back stopped him, he glanced down.
“ Hey. You get this finished up. I’ll handle them. Teach them the fun part of recovery.” Blueberry rubs his back and gives a soft smile, “ Make sure they don’t utterly destroy the work clothes we lent them.”
“ Are you sure?” He almost doesn’t want to protest on the off chance Blue says no.
“ I’m sure. Besides you have a better EYE than i do.” He huffs and shoves blue towards the other room, “ Go give them another job.”
“ If i must.”
Tarragon moves to grab him as he bolts off to the other room, laughing like the little monster he is. “ Alright you disasters I have a new job for you!”
“ Brat.” He mutters under his breath, then lifts up the new window and slides it into its slot.
After sealing it into place he walks towards the next room where Rex and some other clone, Five? The introduction was fast and they were doing a better demolition job than fixing it, adding to his growing migraine. They both glance up at him as he enters.
“ Hello dragon!”
“ It’s Tarragon, Five.”
“ It’s fives.”
“ Let’s call it even.”
He nods looking irked. Tarragon looks at the room, nodding in approval at the work they had done, “ Looks good in here, good repairs. It’s a shame it went so long without them.”
Rex snorts and nods, “ there’s more important things to do.”
“ You’re right. You two can go help with the plumbing.” He growls, feeling like a dragon, “ That, is some very important work.”
Fives jaw drops open, Rex tenses and he glares. Tarragon almost smiles and giggles like a youngling, almost. He’s very stoic on the outside, he points towards the door.
“ This is easily one of our most important jobs, so you’ll be appreciated!” Tarragon steps closer and ‘helps’ them up and guides them down to the basement as Thahali walks out.
“ Just finished down there, it was bad.” He frowns, “ Is there a mess they can clean up?” He’s starting to feel petty. Rex pulls away, “ We can go back up to window repair-”
“ If Tarragon thinks you’d be better down in the basement, you’re better in the basement.” Thahali folds her arms eyeing the captain, he stops moving, she continues “ There is a huge mess down there. Needs a few more of you guys, so go get the Hazmat suits and equipment!”
She then pat’s tarragon’s scarred side of his face, “ Be nice.”
He grins mischievously, a face blueberry had taught him, “ Yes sir.” ————————————————————————————————————— Tarragon was in a much better mood after getting the 501st boys to clean up the pipes. He was grinning as he helped sweep out the ship with Blueberry, the sun starting to set behind them.
“ You are way too happy to have done that.” Blue says, leaning on his own broom.
Tarragon raises his single eyebrow, “ Oh?”
“ Yeah. I heard him say there are more important things and that punishment did not fit the crime.”
“ I disagree. We’re like their maids. It was only fair!”
“ I agree, but personally would have done worse.”
Tarragon bumps his broom out from under him, “ You would not.”
Blue snorts, “ Whatever… do you ever miss… you know… your old military life?”
He shakes his head so fast he thought he would snap his own neck, “ No. You Know what happened to me.”
Blue backtracks, “ I mean not the Jedi or the battle or literally anything that has to do with fighting, It’s more like the brothers. I miss my batch mates, I miss them.” Tarragon slowly nods, “ All of mine are dead… I told you about Krell right?”
“ Yeah… Sorry for asking.”
“ No. It’s okay you do miss them, I miss mine too.”
He tosses his broom into the ship and lifts Blueberry off the floor and starts to go in, “ But I am glad I have you and the others.”
“ I’m glad too brother.”
