Tubbo snuggled more into the blankets, feeling a slight chill around him and was trying to burrow away from it. Groggily he opened his eyes and looked around the dimly lit room by the gentle blue glow of the soulfire lamp on the bedside table. It was still extremely late out - or early? Depending on how you look at it. He gently reached his hand out to his side on the pillow, searching for his tiny husband Ranboo, but couldn't feel him. In sudden panic Tubbo sat up and looked at the pillow, rubbing his eyes to see better. There was no trace of Ranboo anywhere on the pillow and he looked around the room, spotting the slightly opened window. Tubbo carefully got out of bed and walked quietly to the window, looking out and seeing very tiny footprints in the snow on the ledge- they lead right to the edge of the house, not seeming to halt at all. He hoped to Prime that his supposedly Enderwalking husband had enough sense to teleport down from the high ledge.
Tubbo quickly left the upstairs bedroom and scurried outside and into the front yard, barely even grabbing his jacket and shoving his boots on before he got outside. He looked around, squinting in the darkness and slight lamplight from their lanterns. After his eyes adjusted to the light, or lack of light, he quickly spotted a small half black half white form in the snow. Tubbo walked up to his tiny husband, crouching down when within arms reach.
Ranboo was just standing there and staring off into the distance, a small lump of dirt, grass and snow in his hands. He didn't flinch or really pay much attention at all to Tubbo as the relative giant scooped him up into bare hands. The warmth from Tubbo’s hands seeped warmth into Ranboo, even starting to melt the little clump of snow he carried. The tiny was absolutely freezing, having been outside for who knows how long, in only baggy dark bed clothes.
Tubbo gently pressed his freezing husband to his face, against his nose. Ranboo was sitting in Tubbo’s cupped hands, eyes glowing purple and vacant. Slowly the miniature grass block was forgotten and dropped as Ranboo relaxed into the warmth of his best friend and platonic husband.
“..-boo, Ranboo, please wake up. It's Tubbo, Ranboo, come on please-” Ranboo heard as his head swam with thought suddenly, waking up and coming back to the reality around him, eyes going back to their respective green and red color.
“Tubbo? Are- why are we outside?” Ranboo asked as he placed a hand to Tubbo’s face just beside his nose and looked around.
“Ranboo! Thank shit you’re awake Boo- are you ok? I’m so sorry I should've been more aware of you I didn't think you’d go out the window I-” Tubbo rambled apologies as Ranboo leaned back in his hands, only to stop when Ranboo placed a tiny hand on his lip. Tubbo went cross-eyed to look down at the half ender borrower.
“It's not your fault Bee, it’s ok, it's on me if anything, no one can really predict ..this?” Ranboo said softly, gesturing at his eyes and head.
Tubbo nodded gently and Ranboo retracted his hand, suddenly shivering at the air around him. ”Oh my god, right- you’re freezing cold Boo come on. Back inside we go-” Tubbo quickly said as he held the borrower close to his chest and stood up. He made his way back through the snow and into the warmth of their shared house, the lights on downstairs illuminating the cozy wood surfaces around them.
Gently, Tubbo deposited Ranboo onto the couch, pulling the blanket that lived there down around his small form. Ranboo curled up in the fluffy warmth as Tubbo looked down at him. “Stay right there Boo, ok? I'll make us something to drink, I'll be right back.” He placed a gentle kiss to the top of Ranboo’s head as he left to head to the kitchen to make them both some hot chocolate. Meanwhile Ranboo busied himself with the task of keeping warm. He pulled the fabric of the blanket closer to himself and snuggled into its coziness, the fluffy green and grey wool bringing him comfort.
Tubbo returned shortly with two steaming mugs of hot chocolate, one much smaller than the other, fit for a borrower's size, practically a few drops of hot chocolate, but enough to warm Ranboo. The couch dipped dramatically as Tubbo sat down carefully beside Ranboo, gently handing him his drink. Ranboo accepted it without hesitation and blew on it before taking a grateful sip. He smiled up at his platonic husband as he slowly warmed up, happy to have him by his side.
