HELP ???*;*!$?
me, a transmasc: I hate cis men
14yos on twitter: why are you transphobic
Hi, uhm, I’m not the one who sent the anon, but i thought I’d tell you what it meant anyways. Terfs are feminists who say transphobic things like trans women aren’t real women and stuff like that, like Jk Rowling. I don’t know who called you that but I’m sorry it happened.
Oh its chill i know what terfs are, i was perplexed in how it ended up in my askbox
TRANSGENDER 👏 IS 👏 NOT 👏 A 👏 NOUN
Aren’t transphobes all about grammar? You know, how singular they/them is grammatically incorrect and whatnot (even though it isn’t)? Then why can’t they just follow this one, fairly simple grammar rule? Transgender is an adjective. Not a noun. Here are some examples:
INCORRECT: He is a transgender. CORRECT: He is transgender.
INCORRECT: The transgenders at our school… CORRECT: The transgender people at our school…
INCORRECT: Jazz Jennings, a transgendered girl… CORRECT: Jazz Jennings, a transgender girl…
And no, tr*nny is not an appropriate way to make it into a noun. It is a SLUR. IT IS NOT AN OKAY WORD.
TL;DR: Transgender? Adjective. Tr*nny? Slur.
In good news I got a new full time adult job and it's going well so far!
How did you come out to your parents as a transgender?
I can't remember exactly what I said but I'd bascically been mentally preparing myself to come out to my mum for a couple of months.
We ended up watching a documentary on transgender children one night and she asked me whether I felt that way as a kid (because I showed the same signs as the children in the documentary) and I said yes. I don't remember what was said after that but the next night I went downstairs just before my mum was heading to bed and essentially just started crying and told her how I felt and that I couldn't pretend to be someone else anymore because I was beyond miserable. She didn't take it too well at first and went upstairs, awoke my dad and told him without my permission. Though, I should add that she did tell me she loved me and everything- she was just shocked and hurt I think. There was lots of tears and some arguing that night but alot has changed since then and I don't hold it against them at all.
Both of my parents are incredibly supportive and wonderful about me being trans- it has been a learning journey for them but they've been there for me every step of the way so far. They've come with me to every gender clinic appointment, came out to my grandparents for me and have stuck up for me when people have said transphobic things to them. I know it was quite difficult for them to accept in the beginning which is another reason why I'm beyond grateful for them. My mum often says how proud she is of me and says how glad she is that I'm so much happier now. Overall I'm alot closer to my parents now and have a much better relationship with both of them.
Sorry for getting all mushy at the end, I just felt that I needed to add that. Also sorry for rambling so much lmao! I literally wrote a whole novel, mate, I'm so sorry!
Why does it matter if a Transgender cannot follow this blog? That doesn't seem fair to me. That's like picking and choosing who is allowed on here.
what? trans people can follow this blog
