Brandenburg W 18 A91, also brought down on 4 May 1918, displays hull damage from the 0.303-in Vickers guns of several M.5s. Its pilot, Josef Niedermeyer, had been downed three days earlier by Pierozzi and other members of 261ª Squadriglia. He had returned to Trieste on that occasion, but this time he was captured. A third W18, A82, was also driven down, but its pilot, Lschlt Gottfried Banfield, landed in Austrian waters (Paolo Varriale)
