The way Grace going back to save Rocky so excellently parallels his own being sent to save earth in such an amazing way, that i havent seen anyone talk about (maybe because its just very obvious and im a bit dense, idk),

It directly shows not only his growth as a character but how much his relationship with rock has helped that growth, cause we can see from his initial... send off, as i will put it, he knew that if he didnt go, there was a great chance everyone on earth would die, and yet he still chose not to go (not that his wishes mattered in that, mind you), but with rocky, he knew that rocky wouldnt make it back if not for his intervention, and thus Erid would suffer the same fate that earth wouldve, and Grace chooses to go save Rocky, and thus save Erid as a whole, even though he knew for a favt he wouldnt make it back to earth, and likely wouldnt even make it to Erid with the resources he had compared to the time it would take.
