As promised I am highlighting the featured designers who have supported our BOOTHtique at AAS231 - the good news is, it has been an amazing success so far! The bad news is… well, I don’t see a down side! I guess we will run out of stock, but we will send would-be-customers directly to the designers to expand their startorial wardrobes even further!

Space Bling is a new designer at the BOOTHtique this year, even though we’ve been following Susanna’s unique designs since 2015. We are featuring gorgeous classic/vintage-style cuff links (pictured above), but there are also pendant necklaces and chokers featuring real planetary science images from robotic space missions in her @etsy shop!

@astronobeads was brought into our orbit by none other than @startalkradio, and we were over the Moon to bring Bea’s creations to our colleagues! They have been extremely popular, and now that she has a new Mars & moons bracelet launched* today, we’re already looking forward to our next conference BOOTHtique!

I admit that when I was making selections from Tactile Melodies I avoided necklaces with the zodiacal constellations, because most people don’t know their real “star sign”. But as I’ve seen how popular these designs are, even (especially?!) among professional astronomers, I’ve realized, why should Pedantic Astronomer care why people like certain constellations? No matter what, they are looking up and thinking about the Universe!

I admit I am partial to the Little Dipper asterism with the gold accent for Polaris, even though Earth’s “North Star” actually changes with time.

Chelsea has many other beautiful metal designs in her shop and on Etsy.

I can’t believe it’s been less than two years since we first posted about @sci-chic​ - we’ve been through so much! From being fans to meeting in person in NYC (how did we not take any photos?!) to collaborating on a capsule collection, we have been in awe at everything Erin has made!

Here’s some of our favorite pieces from her many science-fabulous designs:

James Webb Space telescope primary mirror necklace in gold steel - we had to try this one in metal, and it had to be gold!

Hubble Telescope necklace in stainless steel - I wish we had ordered more of the metal pieces because they are absolutely beautiful: solid without being hefty, slightly shiny and subtly textured. Photos don’t do them justice!

Kepler field of view necklace in colors plastic - okay, so we are definitely biased toward our own collection, but you can read about why on the SciChic blog!

Solar System necklace - these are all the planets in our Solar System to scale in size - feeling tiny?

Moon phases earrings - we just had to order these in black, white, and glow in the dark plastic!

Star field necklace - Simply stellar!

We are super excited to welcome the space-craft-tastic Chop Shop Store to the AAS 231 BOOTHtique! We’ve shared some of their t-shirts and prints before, and at the booth we’ll have buttons and stickers galore featuring planets & moons, historic & current robotic spacecraft, “Giant Leaps” in human space exploration, and even commemoration of the Great American Total Solar Eclipse of 2017.

First off - @eclecticeccentricity! We have long loved their smart, spacey jewel(le)ry designs, and their pun-tastic names just put us over the Moon!
