It's like Indigo Disk (the item AND Terapagos in itself, but dare I say, the item itself could have been expanded further as a plot device and the overall section with terapagos felt a bit lackluster)
Ab initio is a latin phase that means “from the beginning” used for many ways:
laws (case from the start or instant of the act)
science and engineering (calculations based on the principles and laws of nature - ab initio)
Literature - story is told from the beginning (similair to Horace's term ab ovo - from the egg (ooh coincidence with arceus lol)
Learning subject or foregin langauge - study without previous knowledge or assumptions (hence, a study into kalos' unknown history and arbordrasil!!
