hey, if youre a system and you meet someone with a complex dissociative disorder who's moreso in the later stages of recovery, please remember to treat them as a person, yeah?
and by that i mean, please don't treat them like they somehow can't have problems. that they always know all the answers. that they're inherently better than you, and that they are inherently the standard you judge yourself to.
you may not realize it, but that is idolization. and idolization is still dehumanizing, even when you do it with the best of intentions and really don't mean any harm.
so like, please remember that they're still people who can struggle. idolization isn't allyship. thank you for reading.
On the topic of “trauma theories” or everyone “having trauma,” yes everyone goes through negative experiences in their lives. However, everyone’s definitions of “trauma” and being “traumatised” is different. If someone doesn’t believe themselves to be traumatised / does see themselves as such, then just leave them be.
neiviele again, has a nice post talking about how the term “System” when it comes to multiplicity/plurality is for everyone who sees themselves as multiple/plural and not just those with DID or OSDD.
Along with that, “System is a DID/OSDD term,” huh wow. We’d hate to break it to yall about the Solar System, Nervous System, Immune System, Computer Systems....

Wikipedia:
"A system is a group of interacting or interrelated entities that form a unified whole."
"Most systems are open systems, exchanging matter and energy with its surroundings; like a car, a coffeemaker, or Earth."
The term “System(s)” means many things and is no way exclusive to DID or OSDD in any stretch. When it comes to multiplicity/plurality, this term (System) just really means many consciousnesses together, forming one unit; sharing one body and “brain” (physical).
Surgery went super well, and I'm home and beginning the healing process! I feel so overwhelmed with excitement and relief, and km so grateful for everyone's kind comments and messages!
My chest is a little sore, but that's to be expected lol It really only feels minorly bruised, if I can equate it to that. I'm still a bit disoriented from the anesthesia however lol
