Time for another comic review! Today I obtained the most recent Absolute issues as well as the new Superman/Spider-Man one-shot and the new Daredevil #1! So, full spoilers ahead for Absolute Wonder Woman #18, Absolute Superman #18, Absolute Martian Manhunter #10, Superman/Spider-Man (2026) #1, and Daredevil (2026) #1!

Absolute Wonder Woman #18 - This was another great issue! It mainly focuses on giving us Zatanna’s motives and setting up Diana’s fight with Zatanna’s father, who’s the skeleton man that attacked Diana at the end of the last issue. I like this take on Zatanna so far and I especially like her dynamic with Diana. I wouldn’t be surprised if we got an Absolute Zatanna mini at some point, similar to how we’re getting an Absolute Catwoman mini in a few months. Overall this was a really strong issue and I’m excited for the last two issues of this arc!

Absolute Superman #18 - This was a solid issue. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the Parasite arc, but it was a good start to this arc, especially the ending with King Shazam. I’m mixed on the Lois stuff here. Her wanting revenge makes sense, but it feels generic to me. I do like her using her old Peacemaker connections though. I’m also not a huge fan of Talia so far, she seems like a generic villain, which for Talia id want more then that. I do like the Ra’s stuff though, I like that we’re seeing the effect Superman has on his villains. I also like the line about Jimmy using AI as it continues this books themes of AI and journalism that was established early on with Braniac. I’m interested to see where this arc goes as it continues.

Absolute Martian Manhunter #10 - This is always the toughest series to review because it’s so wild in so many ways. I love this series so much. I love the dynamic between John and the Martian, the moment where they finally reunite after the last few issues was great. I’m interested to see how Desparo fits into everything as he’s still around with John and the Martian. At first I assumed he’d be fully evil like in the main universe, but he seems to fill more of a grey area here which is fun. The Agency are so absurd and I love them so much. The white Martian stuff with John’s son continues as we head towards the finale. Since we’re so close to the end I wonder how that plot and the Agency will converge in these last two issues. This was another great issue of this series and I can’t wait for the rest of it over the next two months!

Superman/Spider-Man (2026) #1 - This one-shot was fine. The stories were serviceable for the most part. The Jimmy Olsen story was my favourite and the MJ/Lois one was not very good in my opinion. All the other stories were fine. They were solid reads, but weren’t anything special. I don’t go into these DC/Marvel crossovers expecting something mind blowing, so this about matched my expectations. Though, I do hope that the next one-shot is stronger overall than this one was.

Daredevil (2026) #1 - I picked this up because I’ve always enjoyed MCU Daredevil, but have never read any of his comics. I don’t know for sure whether I’ll keep up with this series, but this was a really fun first issue. It sets up a new villain and the new status quo for Matt in this run. I like Matt as a professor at ESU, it’s an idea that has a lot of potential and I liked how it was handled here. We also have a new love interest set up, with Matt’s internal monologue talking comparing her to a shark and saying he likes sharks. This was a really solid first issue and I might check out issue 2.
