Can there be an ace bar where people meet and go home to play video games
I WANT AN ACE BAR TO HANG OUT AT D:
COME TO NEW YORK AND HANG OUT AT THE ACE BAR. THEY HAVE DARTS AND POOL AND SKEE-BALL
She was an asshole. And I loved it. Because although she was mean to everyone, she was always nice to me. Protective and dominant. It was sexy... She was hotttt
Tonight
I get to go to Chicago and see Mr. Christopher Paul Stelling play his heart out at The Ace Bar. If you're in Chicago and looking for something to do tonight, GO TO THIS CONCERT. He's absolutely amazing live. So much talent from one man.
Also, he's a wonderfully nice person. This is the second time he's gotten me into a 21+ show when I'm only 18.
And I'm Talking to Myself at Night...
Monday night drinking is always a mistake. This seems pretty intuitive and fairly simple to avoid. However, occasionally circumstances will arise that make drinking on the first night of the week inevitable. In this case, a coworker's going away party. I mean, what does she care, right? Her last day was Friday, so starting the week off on the wrong foot by having a hangover on an extremely bright and sunny Tuesday morning was not really an issue for her. I don't really enjoy feeling like I need a million hours of sleep only one day into the work week. I usually get around to that by about Thursday.
That being said, at least it was a fun time. The people I work with are really quite awesome and I had a blast with them last night. It is such a nice change of pace to socialize outside of the office with the people I spend a majority of my time with. The beers went down easy, especially while they were 2 for 1, there were lots of laughs and I only got a little bit mushy during the goodbyes. Ended up at Ace Bar to meet a few of friends who had left the original party. The place was mostly empty and there were two really cute dogs running around in the bar. For whatever reason, that didn't strike me as odd. If you've never been to Ace Bar on a Monday night...you're not missing much. I had another couple of beers and caught the end of the Yankee game. (Not going to harp on this - bringing it home to win in New York.)
I was somehow able to resist the allure of late night pizza, even though my name and PIZZAAAAAA were being screamed down Avenue A as I hailed a cab. I did, however, make it home by midnight to enjoy the end of the Saints-Falcons game with some Halloween candy. I let the boyfriend sleep and watched in the living room, but I woke Chance up and made her hang out with me. (Another argument against having children: what if I drunkenly get home late and try waking up my kid to make it hang out with me? That's just not cool. It's kind of mean to do to a dog, but at least Chance won't need therapy. Once she got over her confusion, she was just stoked to be hanging out with me.)
The more I think about it, last night was hysterical and I had a blast. Sure I'm tired today, but so what? It was worth it. I don't plan on making it a regular thing, but maybe a little Monday night drinking is good for the soul once in a while. Maybe Tuesday night drinking is too. Only one way to find out.
Some of the crew and associates voyaged to Chicago Steampunk's Clockwork Vaudeville.
