why is the mccall pack so aro??? like hear me out

scott is quoiromantic and doesn’t really get the difference between platonic and romantic attraction?? like it all feels the same to him and he’s basically in love with every single one of his friends...like sure, he’ll get into relationships sometimes if someone close to him is feelin’ it, but ultimately he feels so Much for everyone in his life and he’d marry all of them if he had the option

stiles is frayromantic and he gets super infatuated with people from afar, but once he befriends them or starts dating them, the feelings kind of go away. it not that he doesn’t like them, because he does...so much!! he just doesn’t like them that way and would rather keep things platonic. he’ll never say no to some kissing though

lydia is just very very aro and even though she’s had boyfriends, she’s never actually experienced romantic attraction. dating boys kind of seemed like the thing you were supposed to do in high school, but really she just wants to be able to make out with whoever she wants without them getting too attached or catching Feelings

malia was an actual animal for eight years...like what the frick does she know about romance?? sure, she’d known about dates and significant others and stuff when she was a kid, but after spending so many years in the wild, it just seems silly to her. why survive with one person when you can survive with lots? all she knows is that she cares about people and - even though it took her awhile to get there - she’d never leave any of them behind

kira is cupioromantic and loves being in relationships even though she isn’t romantically attracted to anyone. when she was a little kid, she’d always dream about going on dates with her friends or even marrying one of them someday as long as she didn’t have to be “in love” (gross!). and now that she’s older, all she really wants is a special person to hang out with and maybe even kiss sometimes as long as they know that her love doesn’t belong to them only

derek has been through more than his fair share of trauma with paige and kate and, because of it, he no longer feels like That about people. he likes companionship and having someone to live with, but if someone ever mentions that ‘love’ stuff to him, he turns tail and runs away

Aromantic Scott Mccal

Scott Mccall, prince of romance, Mr. I-fall-in-love-nearly-every-day. Scott Mccall, hella aromantic. 

When he was a kid, he loved the idea of finding The One. He loved stories of princes and princesses, who could always find each other. It might have something with the fact his parents split up when he was young, he would have wanted someone to spend their life with his mother and make her as happy as she deserved it. 

He doesn’t realize he’s aromantic right away, obviously, while he is dating Allison. It’s not really romantic in fact, it’s a mix between friendship and sexual attraction, which, with all his teenage hormones, is quite something. He doesn’t really think about it, it’s just that he cannot imagine any part of his future life without her. He never wants to leave her! Except that, now that he thinks about it, it’s the same for Stiles. And now Derek. And Lydia. Ok, he might not be in love. 

The realization is difficult. First, because he feels like he is lying to Allison, cheating with her feelings. And also because his whole “Allison is the one” thought is now unaccurate. He feels terrible, so he speaks about it to the only one who could possibly help, Stiles. And luckily, he has the best best friend anyone could dream, who then spends an entire night looking up what Scott might be. He next day, he comes with a term: aromantic. 

Having a name does not feel good straight away. It even makes him uncomfortable at first, because it means that his One True Love dream is over! Not just with Allison, but for his entire life? That’s terrifying for him. Except that once again, Stiles takes care of it. He reunites the pack and explains what’s happening, what Scott is. It takes them a moment to really get it, but then, they really do. So they surprise Scott with some kind of a huge pack date, and they tell him Stiles has explained everything to them, and that they get it. That Scott shouldn’t be scared to spend the rest of his life alone, because he’ll spend it with them. That everything will be alright, because they love him. 

Scott feels like crying, because of how much he loves them. He knows he is surrounded by people who will always care about him and that it’s going to be okay. That finding The One is really about finding someone who wants the best for you, and he’s so lucky, he’s got four of them! 

When he meets Kira, he flirts with her because he finds her cute. When he meets Malia, he instantly feel very protective of her, as if he had some kind of responsability towards her. So they become part of The Pack (his own replacement of The One) very quickly. He explains what he is to them and Kira feels like crying because that’s the first time a word seems to fit her. Maybe not aromantic though, she has had crushes, that had died when she had started dating the person. Scott is so excited to learn that, and when they learn about a queerplatonic relationship, they know they have found something for them.

Teen wolf aromantic headcanons

Okay this is not a everyone is aro!au but how I think everyone would be as aromantic 

Scott Mccall, who feels like he’s in love with everyone and seems to fall in love all the time so easily until he realizes that this is not what people call love and that he just loves his friends very much and sometimes wants hugs and hands holding and sex and dates but that’s not romantic love. He learns about aromanticism and then everything makes sense because why would he prioticise anyone? And of course everyone loves him way too much not to accept to do romantically-coded things with him without being with him. He has sex with Stiles and Kira and offers flowers and chocolates to Allison on every Valentine’s day and flirts with Isaac and cuddles with Lydia…

Allison Argent, who feels like she should be in love with Scott when she meets him because she likes him very much and he’s so sweet and soft, but she never feels that way. He gives her puppy eyes and she melts but not the way she knows she should. It hurts because he’s just so adorable! So devoted, caring! She’s awful! And then they break up and she feels so relieved because now, she can finally be friends with him, there’s no need to date… She’s free. But it’s not like she doesn’t like to flirt, she does it all the time, and Isaac likes to do it with her too, but that doesn’t go further. She likes to imagine her life in the future and it doesn’t include anyone except the entire pack all in one house and maybe one or two kids because she has always loved them. What matters is her family, which is, of course, made of her friends

Kira Yukimura, who is the new girl in school and who is scared and alone so she instantly feels drawn to that cute guy who’s nice to her. But she also likes that girl with long hair and cute eyes even though she nearly killed her as a coyote and also that lovely brainiac who takes care of her. It’s not romantic. It’s just that she loves friends so much and now she has so many of them, who love her as much as she does. She also loves to have sex, and she can’t decide who is the best between Scott and Stiles, though the answer must be both together 

Stiles Stilinski, who has researched this (and more) ten times but who knows it doesn’t fit him because duh he has had a crush on Lydia since third grade! But then Lydia starts noticing him, and she flirts with him/teases him, and one day she even KISSES him and!!! Everything just disappears? He becomes entirely uninterested in her? And he does his research again and WOW apparently there is a word for that! He’s lithromantic? And then he’s attracted to Malia and the exact same thing happens and he’s now sure of his romantic orientation. He’s not interested in sex, mostly because he’s so not casual about anything that casual sex seems absurd and that he is not interested in anyone for a queerplatonic relationship. So he explains everything to the pack (who doesn’t really understand but it doesn’t matter because they care about him) and Malia is fine with it (she might be gay anyway)

Lydia Martin, who has had a dozen of boyfriends so it wouldn’t make any sense! Come on! Of course she was in love with her boyfriends! Except that she witnesses Allison and Scott’s relationship and suddenly she starts to wonder if she may be wrong? Allison talks to her about what love feels like (“you’ve had boyfriends!” “Not like that”) and she gets home and cries for hours because she’s sure something is wrong with her. She has always wanted to be normal and liked and even loved, so why can’t she? She talks about it to Stiles who comes back the day after with a ten-pages essay about aromanticism and everything makes sense suddenly. She also stops having sex because she’s demi-sexual but she wanted to be normal so bad that she had forced herself for years. Now she only helps Allison when she’s horny because she enjoys it 

Malia Tate, who has been a coyote for eight years, of course she is aromantic! Yes, her trauma is the cause of her aromanticism, but it doesn’t invalidate it. She never feels the need to look it up because she never feels abnormal, she’s the way she is, that’s what matters for her. No-one really gets what her relationships are but they still roll with it, and she loves to be protective of everyone in the pack, to cuddle with everyone, to kiss them on the face when she feels like it. She hates the idea of putting anyone higher than the others because in her heart, they are all equal

Liam Dunbar, who tought his anger issues were the reasons he couldn’t have crushes. He feels so ANGRY all of time, how can he feels something like love? Except that he then learns how to control himself and… he still doesn’t have any crush? This very cute girl is getting competitive with him and teases him and he still doesn’t feel anything? But it doesn’t really bother him. In fact, he likes feeling like the pack’s kid, he likes kissing Hayden so he does and that’s fun. He is not really into sex but he believes he’s got time to figure everything out. However, what he really enjoys is to admire people’s beauty and he can’t deny everyone in the pack takes his breath away 

Hayden Romero, who really has something else to think about rather than romance before as she was transitionning and dysophoria was way more important than any lovey-dovey feeling. She had felt so bad for so many years, unable to dare to tell her family. How could she date? How could she date someone while in a body that didn’t fit her? But then she has access to transitionning and her body feels so good, she likes how she looks so much! She likes to flirt, to date, because she feels like a real girl. But then, crushes don’t come, and she fears something is wrong with her hormones. She might be bi too, so it’s quite a lot, and she goes to some lgbt+ reunion, talks about how she feels, and someone give her the word aromanticism and she just laughs because yes, yes, yes! Obviously!

Sorry, I may look like a stalker because I like and reblog your stuff like crazy but this is one of the safest blog I know! Do you have any headcanons for Malia? I personally think is genderfluid and biromantic but I like to hear your thoughts!

That’s why I create it, no worries! I pretty much love every trans headcanon, but here’s one:

okay, so agender Malia who doesn’t have a gender because she was raised with gender expectations growing up, but life was suddenly devoid of that as a coyote, and god, it’s so much better. she’s thrown back into human life and there’s all these gender expectations and she hates them. they make her feel uncomfortable, so she asks about socialized gender and researches it and god - having no gender. that’s her, that’s how she feels. the absence of gender, that’s what makes sense to her.

I think sexually and romantically, Malia is down for whatever so I’m like bi/pansexual alloromantic, but also aromantic Malia who doesn’t experience romantic attraction so she prioritizes relationships with people based on trust and care.

Okay but allosexual adfecturomantic Derek Hale

Adfecturomantic: describes someone whose romantic attraction is affected by one’s neurodivergency, especially fluctuating moods, personality disorders, and effects from PTSD / being a trauma survivor

In canon, Derek definitely displays no hesitation sexually, but his formation of any relationship - platonic or romantic - tends to be stilted due to his past trauma. While I can see Derek being demiromantic, there are trauma survivors who are not allosexual/alloromantic due to their trauma and acknowledging that in Derek is something I would love to see more of.
