I wanted a Monk but instead of power that manifests from you, the power you’re throwing out is manifested from your surroundings. You’re in a graveyard? Your abilities are shrouded in darkness, you gain the ability to overpower the emotions of your opponents with grim thoughts. Are you in a forest known for an endless breeze? Seems like your blows are now backed by a blast of wind. Sort of like a Geomancer but the source of power is coming from you rather than manipulating your environment.

Their design was actually inspired from a custom character I made in Soul Calibur 6.

Had the “coins flying off the opponent” hit effect because my little character was given the backstory of a traveling merchant that sold things from his hammerspace satchel.

That concept was depicted in my drawings for the generic too, even if it became a character unrelated to that.

I already had a Merchant by then.

Maybe my custom character can become his own thing later, who knows!
