I am curious how long they had the ad campaign rolling. I imagine it was a recurrent they had to go back to after an ensuing ad slogan failed.

Bandleader, cartoonist, and restaurateur Xavier Cugat personally delivers Peter Lawford a box from his new candy company, Cugat's Nugats (’the candy of the stars’)...
Peter could be found dining at Cugat’s Mexican restaurant Casa Cugat in West Hollywood and the Waldorf–Astoria Hotel and the Cocoanut Grove (a night club in Los Angeles) where Cugat led his band. Preferring to dance to Latin music, play anything which featured the mambo, the cha-cha-cha, rhumbas and the samba and you could find Peter dancing with his often-time dancing partner Ava Gardner who also liked the same type of songs to dance to.
...as a result, Cugat affectionately nicknamed Peter "Cuban Pete" after a song popularized by fellow actor Desi Arnaz.
