Accessible beach in Slovenia - Okolje Piran
Looked up mobility aids types and ended up on a page for adaptive equipment, learning about side-handlebars for toilets.
That would be nice I think
Maybe a shower chair too
We keep remembering they exist and seem cool then forgetting they exist
Maybe also a handlebar for getting into the shower but I don't think Our bathroom walls are designed to support those
If only I weren't scared of imposing. Fear of asking for these would get rejected by my parents for taking up too much space. Not maliciously. If that matters. But still failing to understand how much these little things would make life easier for me.
Maybe I can finally get these things for myself once I legally own my own home in approximately Never In My Lifetime
My cool adaptive call light hospital got me sinse im nonverbal and stuff. U just have squeez the grey ovaly bulb thing and it still notifies the nurses!
My life from my perspective: A wheelchair users apartment.

It’s occupational therapy month!
Had an occupational therapy appointment today for chronic pain and adaptive equipment! It went well :)
I got some recommendations for things like a rocker knife, built up utensils, etc. I also got a booklet for chronic pain information and whatnot!
The only bad part was that my hands are significantly weaker than they were a couple years ago... tho my pain has gotten less manageable and worse since then, so it makes sense.
Anybody know of a mattress that is soft but has firmer outside edges? My friend is looking for one for her mom. The issue is —and I totally get this because I have the same issue— that the mattress needs to be soft enough to be easy on her arthritic body, but firm enough on the edges that she can sit herself up and stand up out of the bed. Which is an issue I have too, which is why I tend to go for medium mattresses. I wish I could go for the soft ones that would cradle my body but if I did that, I couldn’t get up out of the bed. So, to be honest, I might need to know the answer to this question at some point myself.
If you have any suggestions for a type of mattress that is soft in the center, but firm on the edges, I’d super appreciate it. And if everybody who sees this could re-blog it, try to get it out there in the world so I can get an answer for my friend and her mom, that would be awesome! Thanks, friends!
