Goin off screens for a few weeks. Not bc of some moral high ground against screens. But bc of eye surgery. I’ve had to have this surgery before. I know once I get past the first 48 hours & the strain on my body from the procedure itself, the worst part is just gonna be boredom. So. Much. Boredom. I also know that I really really need the surgery and that it really really helps. So I’m looking forward to being able to see more clearly in about three months. But for a couple of weeks at least I’m very limited on screen time and even vision in general. For the first week I have no screens at all. So if there is anything you post that you think I’d like to see, tag me in the comments and I’ll check it out when I get back on here! Love you, fam!

I have a stomachache. I overslept today but then I got up & arted & felt good. Then I got fatigued, so I listened to KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack to pump myself up enough to finish what I was working on, felt pretty ok. Ate dinner & now stomach is hard but also nauseas somehow? Maybe from my hiatal hernia? Idk but I’m in bed way earlier than I’d like. I got some stuff done today though so, as my dad would say, “it is what it is, we do what we do.”

Going to a PJ Theme Night on a Comic Con Cruise. 4 friends, we have matching grey tshirts that will be Criquet’d with the words “Fangirl Central”, then a retro TV, then “Watching together since 2003”. And we are all buying bottoms from this seller but each getting our own design, so cut & style will be the same, but the design for our own personal tastes. Unfortunately I like a LOT of cool things. TMI: stomach issues
I threw up tonight, more stuff than I ever have, ever. & was actually only like 3rd time I’ve ever puked in my life without it being from a medication side effect. No fever, I feel tired & a lil stomach ache but otherwise ok. Idk what that was. My anxiety is saying, “Oh, what if it’s from your hiatal hernia? Oh no! You’ll hafta have surgery!” I’ve had this thing for like 3 years. There’s no reason to think anything has changed now. I also freaked out it could be my liver acting up, even though that’s never been a symptom I’ve had from my liver before. It’s fun when puking your entire stomach contents up isn’t even the worst part. Waiting to see if it happens again while I worry it’s something serious, yeah this is the fun part. I almost wish I *was* running a fever, just so I’d be able to say, “Ope, musta caught a bug.” Welp, I gotta try eating again at some point tonight. Sis left me a banana and said to try it later. If that comes up, she’ll stay home from work to look after me. Good lass, that one.
Not entirely disability relevant, but healthcare relevant and if there is anyone who understands about bodily autonomy it is you, the disability community. 
The University of Michigan Trans Community Needs Us Now! I made the call today. I got a voicemail and left a message. I told them that they should pass on to whoever’s made this decision that I consider them cowards for bowing to this authoritarian regime. I know they are worried about losing federal funding but the only people who should make the decision about a child’s health is the parents, child and doctors — not politicians pressuring people! Also, I said I don’t understand why it is “children under 19”. When you are 18 you can be drafted, the government can send you into war against your will, but you still can’t make your own healthcare choices because of that same government? That makes no sense to me. I said I am disabled and have been a patient there since I was a baby. At this point I think I literally bleed blue and gold from the amount of blood I’ve gotten there. But I have never been so disappointed in my hospital. I did give my name and number and told them they could call if they wished but it wasn’t necessary as long as they passed on my message to the powers that be.
You too can make the call. You don’t even have to leave your phone number if you don’t wish. Just leave a message. Tell them you’re outraged. Tell them an American family, born & bred, should not have to be considering seeking refugee status in another country (Canada) just to get healthcare for their child. (Yes, my friend may have to do this, uproot their whole family & leave everything their children know behind because they cannot get healthcare for their son in Michigan now). Please, if you are an ally of the trans community, make the call. Trump should not have his hands on anyone’s doctors! If you believe in bodily autonomy, make the call. Our trans friends & family need us now more than ever.

That gender affirming care includes hormonal replacement, which is a huge part of gender affirming care.”

He is the first disabled Justice elected to the MI Supreme Court. With all that is going on with Social Security and the Trump regime messing with disability rights, I would love to talk to someone who is affected daily by this, and that I know personally, before speaking with him. Big news on my front: I got accepted into an art exhibit! The Recycle Art Show, has to be 80% recycled material, so I made a self portrait out of old pill bottles. I went to the show last year and I’ve seen some of the artists that get in, and I cannot believe that they think I’m in the same league as these people. But I am pretty damn excited. It’s only the second time I’ve ever submitted and it’s the first exhibit I’ve ever been in (since my high school art show, where I did win 3rd place in sculptures for my papier-mâché punk rock head, lol). The opening reception is this Friday, the exhibit will be up for a month.
