why was it so hard to create good live action adaptations of female superheroes without unnecessary sexualization, changing the character (not for the better), or forgetting their existence?
A few examples: the MCU with Natasha, Wanda, and Sharon; Jean and Rogue in the FOX X-Men films; and Wonder Woman in the DCEU.
I’m sure there’s more female superheroes I’m forgetting, but these are the ones I can think of from the top of my head.
Yes, I’m upset MCU Yelena is barely like comic Yelena, but at least the MCU didn’t oversexualize her.
