The Family Legacy: A Hello Neighbor Fanfic

Summary: For many years, the Petersons have had a family legacy of supervillainy, and Ted plans to continue that.

The Petersons were the definition of the phrase "wolf in sheep's clothing". They looked very nice on the outside, but they were terrifying people on the inside.

Ike had heard rumors about this of course, and like an idiot, he ignored the dangers of befriending one of the Peterson children, Theodore.

But Ike didn't completely blame himself for that. He was young, naive, inexperienced, and he had no idea that Theodore came from a family of supervillains that terrorized the city of Raven Brooks.

And even when he found out, he still continued to be friends with Theodore. Why?

"Ike, you're free to leave any time. But just know that if you do, we'll have no choice but to erase your memory of everything you know about us, including your friendship with Theodore. Sure, you have proven that you can be trusted, but Petersons don't take risks unless needed."

That's why.

That's what Roger said to Ike.

Years later, Ike and Theodore's friendship remained, and he didn't have much of a choice but to just stay quiet while Theodore carried on the family legacy along with the rest of his siblings.

Ike was just walking to the Peterson house one afternoon at the request of Theodore, and when he got there, Ted had already opened the door and dragged him down to the basement.

As they descended further down, Ike had caught a glimpse of one of the family portraits on the wall.

Roger and Adele Peterson, 2 villains in love, married and had 3 beautiful children. They were the ones who brought the most fright to the town with their insane levels of genius and love for meteorology. They had actually succeeded in putting Raven Brooks on the map, but some people just don't like that kind of attention.

Franklin Peterson, their oldest, was a very talented actor. That also meant he was very good at lying and manipulation like a true villain would be. No one knew where he was now, all they knew was that he left Raven Brooks as soon as he graduated high school.

Theodore Peterson, the middle child. Don't let his innocent eyes fool you. He may have been an innocent child back then, but now here he was, a monstrous man who can't be stopped.

Lisa Peterson, their youngest. She moved to Minnesota after she got tired of terrorizing Raven Brooks, saying she wanted something new. Every night on the news, you hear about what she did now and who stopped her, but failed to apprehend her.

Ike and Ted finally got to where Ted was taking him, Ted showed him the blueprints of what he's been working on for so long.

"It's finally complete, Ike. My mother and father's weather machine.", he said, marveling at what he's just accomplished. "Isn't it beautiful?"

Ike shrugged, "It's definitely something alright.", he said.

"Just one flick of this switch right here, and a storm will appear. Night Owl won't stand a chance against such a thing.", said the villain. "Me, however, the weather only makes me more powerful."

Ike looked at the machine, then back at his friend. "Ted, how big of a storm are we talking about?", he asked.

"Imagine it's raining outside, then imagine hail and thunder and lightning."

"Okay...?"

"Imagine that times a thousand."

"...Oh God."

"Yes.", said Theodore. "Tomorrow will be our biggest battle yet, and all I have to do is flip the switch and his handicap is set. Meanwhile, I'll be the most powerful thing he'll be up against. The storm might be the least of his concerns. There's no way he'll be able to save any of the citizens of Raven Brooks."

Ike put a gentle hand on his friend's shoulder.

"Ted, I'm imagining this right now and I can't help but think that a storm like that would be enough to kill someone. Superhero or civilian.", said Ike.

Ted couldn't help but let out a booming laugh, Ike had always felt that they were as loud and thunderous as the storms he created. "Ike, we've discussed this already. Even villains know limits. We only torment heroes and cause trouble for them and the people they protect, but killing them is where we draw the line."

"I know. It's just that...I'm worried."

This time, Ted put his arm around Ike's shoulder, "Well don't be, my dear friend. Because this wasn't even enough to kill the strongest superheroes before Night Owl came to play. And if anyone knows that little midget man, it's me."

Ike snorted when Ted referred to Night Owl as a midget man. He remembered the time where Ted was so disappointed when he realized that he was the superhero who'd be going against him in battles, because when he was hoping to go up against a real hero, he was kind of hoping for someone a little more taller than that.

"Okay, Ted.", said Ike. "I'm trusting you, just...please be careful. Your imagination runs wild, and I like that, but if you let it run too wild, it might end up hurting someone. Sometimes, even someone you care about."

"Don't use my father's words against me.", said Ted as he pointed a finger at Ike and backed him up against the wall, then he backed away from his friend and let out another laugh. "I'm joking. Of course I'll be careful."

"Okay."
