Just finished both endings of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with French voices, and I have some voice acting opinions to get off my chest

***Huge SPOILERS ahead***

Adeline Chetail did an amazing job as Maelle in the French version of the ending. She's on par with Jennifer English, especially while Maelle is in Verso's arms slowly gommaging away.

Also, HUGE shoutouts to her voice work during the discussion with Renoir in the final act. You *hear* her lie, and it's absolutely stunning.

Slimane Yefsah as Verso has a beautiful dark and cool voice throughout the game, loved it a lot. I am a little disappointed with the ending voice work though, since he's barely changing his tone.

Verso is devastated and crying in both endings, you are allowed to drop your coolness here and be emotionally wrecked. Especially sad to hear his almost neutral tone adressing Monoco and Esquie in Verso's end.

His last words in Maelle's ending ("Aide-moi... aide-moi...") were great, but it's too little too late imo.

BUT this is all said with Ben Starr's stellar English performance in the back of my mind - my opinion is heavily influenced by it. Ben's breaking cries of despair are unreachable for the best VA's in the industry and deserving of every award it got and WILL be getting.

TL;DR: If you haven't seen the endings with French voices, do it please for Adeline Chetails' stellar performance. If you haven't played English voices - please please listen to Ben's and Jen's voice work. You are missing out if you didn't watch it!!

(other friendly reminder: Adeline Chetail is a fucking HUGE voice actress in France, she voiced Zelda, Jinx in Arcane, Ellie in The Last of US, and that's not even 1% of her work)
