What's with all the aro-aces suddenly interested in adoption/fostering lately? These people are beyond annoying.

"Bigotry" is such a loaded word for anyone considering adoption or fostering. News flash: the process of applying to become a foster or adoptive parent is a discriminatory process and it's supposed to be. This is about what is supposed to be in the best interest of the child not in the best interest of you.

The actual absurdity of telling a former foster kid that they are a "bigot" for outlining concerns with aro-ace single parent adoption. They are so entitled.

It's like I've said before, these people use their ridiculous sexual identities as a battering ram to get whatever they want. The alphabet needs to be stopped.

I'm trying to nap but I have an email from Family Tree DNA that I have a close family match. I feel like I should keep trying to fall asleep for a bit but I kind of want to log in and see what it is. I'm afraid though if I do log in and look, I won't be able to sleep. Either it's a really good match or it's just more disappointment. *sigh*

"I was adopted"

So I try to avoid bringing up the fact that I was adopted. If it comes up in a conversation, I don’t care that much, but I try to avoid saying that I’m an adoptee to an extent. It’s not because I’m afraid of people asking me intrusive questions, or at least I don’t think that’s why. I think it’s because I want to avoid the subject in general, because I don’t really want to think about being an adoptee and I don’t want the other person having a series of questions in their head, whether or not they will verbally say them to me. I don’t really know for certain why I do this, but I do for some reason. I also think in general it’s kinda an awkward thing to bring up in a way, I guess. Like if my friends are talking about family traits and stuff like that I just kinda sit there and listen the whole time. Does anyone else try to avoid bringing up the fact that you are an adoptee?

A potential "second-third cousin" popped up on 23andMe. What do I do with that???? (I mean, nothin, sure). I can't tell this person anything! I don't KNOW ANYTHING.

November is adoptee awareness month. I have always been very aware of my adoption (sometimes in a good way and sometimes in a bad way)

Types of prospective foster/adoptive parents you will meet:

The "pregnancy and birth disgusts me" woman.

It's just wild to me that these women feel so entitled. You don’t want to go through the pain or discomfort of childbirth—so the solution is to take another woman’s child instead? This raises the same ethical concerns of surrogacy. Wealthy women pursue surrogacy but entitled middle class women treat the foster care system like a child dispensing machine.

"I don't like babies"

Here we go. Treating kids like they are commercial products. You just want to skip all the things you find inconvenient about parenthood. You don't want to worry about crying, diapers, or toilet training. Kids should just show up on your porch like an amazon package right? 🙄
