When Friends Come From Afar
Explicit, Adrien/Chloé/Marinette, Adrien and Marinette try out cucking
The up-scale Manhattan bar was quiet, but everybody who was talking was talking about Chloé. That was just how she liked it. Here in New York City, it was hard to stand out, but she had no trouble tonight. A body to die for, barely covered by the skimpiest golden dress, perfect hair, perfect make-up, and her body language an open invitation, sitting at the counter so everyone could see her—Chloé was here to turn heads, and that was just the start.
Three different guys had already approached her, willing to buy her a drink. Cute, all of them, and she had genuinely thought about it, but in the end she’d turned them all down. Tonight, she wanted something special.
She was scanning the faces. Many hard nos, a few maybes, almost all of them hopeful. Perhaps…
“Can I buy you a drink?”, asked someone next to her. Male, tall…
“We’ll see”, she said, turning around. “If you’re–Adrien!?”
It hit her like a flying brick wall. There he was, in the flesh. Her old high school crush, smiling politely. God, growing up had been kind to him. She’d seen him on the nets, of course, still exchanging the odd greeting over various messengers, but wow, it was different to finally lay eyes on the real thing again.
Still the same piercing green eyes and beautiful golden hair, now paired with a sexy bit of stubble on his chin. He was wearing a suit that did nothing to hide his impressive physique, broad and muscular. The only thing that undercut the look was the green tie with black paw prints, but she could easily overlook that.
“Oh my god, I didn’t know you’re here!”, she shouted, as they exchanged la bise. “No, wait, the fashion event, right?”
He nodded. “Yes, the…” He rattled off a name that she immediately forgot again, too caught up n seeing him again.
“It’s a work thing, but when I saw on your instagram that you were here, I figured I’d say hello.”
Oh, that was interesting. Yes, Adrien always made sure to give likes on all of his friends’ posts, but still, him going out of the way to find her? That was rare. Something to watch.
“You look good”, she said. It was a lie, really: He looked like a god among men. Pure sex appeal.
Exactly the kind of guy she’d been hoping would show up.
“Thanks”, he replied, nodding. “Same to you, what a vision! That dress, stunning.”
“Oh… thank you.” Chloé actually felt herself get a little flustered. Of course she was beautiful and hot and amazing. A long line of past lovers and one-night-stands kept telling her so. But hearing it from Adrien, her childhood friend, sent a new kind of tingle through her.
“Seriously, that fabric, and the gold applications… that is quality stuff. May I…?”
He leaned down, and gently ran his finger over the fabric of the halter. Chloé’s breath almost stopped.
With the widest grin she’d ever seen, he said, “sorry, couldn’t resist.” It was the same tone of voice he used while playing when they were five years old, but in this new context, it sent shivers down her spine. Was that what Marinette had to deal with on a daily basis?
Actually, what about her? His wedding band was strictly on and they seemed more than happy in their social media posts. It was probably a bad idea to try and flirt with him. But then, she had always been the queen bee of bad ideas.
