My favorite episode of BoBoiBoy
Finally, a bbb blog on Tumblr I've been scouring this site for months to find one thank God you exist (even if it's only a passing hyperfixation)
Anyways do you have any personal headcanons about the kokotiam gang/elementals?
Thanks for asking anon!! Honestly I'm like the worst person to ask headcanons abt cuz I like what canon does most of the time, but I did thought abt a few things while rewatching the series:
When stressed abt something, Boi would sometimes accidentally unleash fire from his fists like he did in the original series (S3 Ep 17). Most of the time he'll die out the flame and continue on his day, but there are times where he'll turn into Blaze and play around a bit to release stress. He makes absolute sure to NOT cause accidental fires this time around
Boi previously practiced archery for fun before Air/Ais had a bow as his main weapon. He only learned Olympic style archery before Tok Kasa introduces him to other techniques that might fit him more in battle. This hc is mostly based on that one fanmail reply in Majalah Komik BoBoiBoy issue 76
Gopal is strong enough to carry his friends. And he does this A LOT with Boi, cuz y'know that's what friends do? (At least mine does hehe)
Whenever one of Boi's elementals starts forgetting the Kokotaim's names with something else, Yaya would wing whatever name they come up with in order to retain consistency. This in turn makes Yaya unconsciously accepting those nicknames and would turn her head when someone calls her by those names
In the early days, Boi would often cut his white hair in secret due to insecurity. As he grows older he decided to let it grow, making the white streak visible even with his cap on. This hc is mostly based on his Galaxy S2 appearance in the animation
Yaya has in fact made decent cookies due to her recipe being very experimental and changing every time. Nobody knows this cuz no one would even dare to give her cookies another try
Adu Du: I don't like your accusatory tone. Boboiboy: Well, I'd use a different tone but I'm trying to accuse you of something.
You know what, I would accept Chloe Face-heel turn IF she actually wrote like this character :
He is Adu Du, former Antagonist from BoBoiBoy Series. Before landed on Earth, he was a loser on his own homeplanet, get bullied and being disowned. Adu Du decide to go to earth to find a Cocoa. So he can hailed as a hero of his planet.
He start as main Antagonist in Season 1 until Season 2, an effective threat for BoBoiBoy and his friend. Then in Season 3, he start to have his redemption arc for sake to rebuild his only friend, Probe, after being destroyed and defeated by Ejo Jo. During his redemption arc, Adu Du has lot of trouble to control his anger or be better person. But this is how Redemption arc works, show the character has an actual struggle to be change because we can't be a new leaf in instant.
Unfortunately, he went back become bad due to his mother manipulation. When he back as bad guy, he still competent villain and fully embrace his proud of being bad guys. Until the end of Season 3, he decide to help BoBoiBoy to fight against Ejo Jo and help them to reach Kaizo spaceship to saved Fang.
Despite no longer being good guy, he and Probe ended being neutral character, no longer being the main threat. In Galaxy, especially Gentar Arc, he become main focused character to saved Probe from Roksasa, making him has no other choice to send a SOS signal to get help. Eventually, BoBoiBoy, Gopal and Qually working together with Adu Du to saved Probe and Ochobot. In the end of Gentar Arc, when Qually asked BoBoiBoy if Adu Du is evil or not, BoBoiBoy believe that Adu Du is not that evil.
Now, why I compare him with S4/S5 Chloe ? Because his character is complex even after he went back to be bad guy. Thanks to his mother manipulation and support, Adu Du become lot resourceful than he was in past season. And of course he manage his privilege from his mother and thinking about his evil plan perfectly. He openly proud of it. UNLIKE SEASON 4-5 CHLOE, this make his character still engaging, memorable and watchable. He is missed by the viewer since he no longer has much screentime. He is written not by writers out-of-spite.
Adu Du return as bad guy never painted as "irredeemable" despite he has done lot of worse and is MORE active antagonist than Chloe. (Adu Du takes advantages of BoBoiBoy stress of unable to manage his time as student and superhero, then seeing him being controlled by his own Elemental Form (BoBoiBoy Fire). Which make him to manipulate the citizen by make them seeing BoBoiBoy as too dangerous as hero then build a robot imitation of the hero. Then after his plan successful, he begin to put a high donation and threaten to destroy everything. ) Heck, he still has genuine humorous moment which is not forced humor at all.
Chloe, however, to make her "irredeemable", make her "abuse" her father and Sabrina, then make her 24 hours call herself as "I'm Sooo Evulz" despite being a minion for Gabriel and Miss-3-different-faces and acting as "dumb-blonde bitch" stereotype. Resulting viewer tired of seeing her instead of hating her. Because she is written out-of-spite by the fat beared bastard
I would say issues 15-17 was a very enjoyable arc, and I think the introduction of Gentar was handled in an interesting way
It's another instance where Boboiboy was put into a situation where he effectively couldn't do anything for some time and allowed the other characters to have the spotlight (honestly i just like any chapter where other characters get development. Gopal and Qually having to take charge even though they're scared? 10/10. Adu du calling TAPOPS for help because he wants to save his friend? incredible. The implication that he's straddling the line of good and evil? wow.)
and in this case, he was even a liability to the team because he was Very Useless
And this was just because he felt like being a lil shxt and bringing out a new fusion when he was told he wasn't allowed to use Frostfire instead of using. anyone else. which he felt. Very Bad About.
Which in turn sort of triggers Gentar's character development. He, who was shown to be arrogant, flamboyant and impulsive, too quick to attack, had to learn to wait and let the opponent attack so he could discover his powers, an absolutely scrumptious writing decision.
Also making use of the continuity from Adu du's training under Tok Kasa and using the chip put into Ochobot was Very Good
and these man made horrors beyond my comprehension
You guys seem to like my last post so here’s some more Adu Du!
Plus some additional silly doodles:
Kaizo should be listed as the Tumblr sexyman because he deserves it.
