Happy new year to all aroacespec people out there, but especially to the ones who:
People tend to disregard their identity by saying that it’s a “phase”
Aren’t outside of the closet yet
Are still discovering their aroacespec identity
Feel alone during these holidays because society has let them believe that having a romantic partner is the only way to not be “alone”
Don’t have aroace friends or an aroace community in their country because it is not a well known term there
Don’t feel safe at home during these holidays and can’t come out to their family because of the fear of being judged or rejected
Have to pretend to be allos around their family members for whatever reason, and are always annoyed by the common question of “and when are you getting a boyfriend/girlfriend or getting married or having children?”
I’m here for you, you are not alone. We’re all part of this beautiful community. Happy new year y’all!
