German metal band Aeranea with Lilly Seth on vocals presents new single titled ‘Your Idols Awaken’. Watch the accompanying music video below. From the bassist and co-songwriter of internationally acclaimed symphonic metal band Beyond The Black comes a new project to explore the darker sides of female fronted metal: Aeranea and its forthcoming album A Voice For The Lost fills in the gap between melodic and intricate compositions and a ferocious and powerful riffing that stands out on its own in the realm of female fronted music. Ranging from head breaking metal tracks to very personal and emotional tracks, Aeranea never fear to experiment and let their diverse musical influence come into play, always tapping into the darker sides of personal experiences and the human condition, creating a signature sound of modern alternative metal. A Voice For The Lost is set to be released April 16. Amidst the pandemic that raged in the music industry, Aeranea found a strong motivation to record new music and be a beacon of light in a world that turns darker and darker. [via Metal Goddesses]
Hamilton, ON quartet Planned Dilemma share a video single from their forthcoming debut Inspace. Relentlessly restless, riling. These three words, off Planned Dilemma’s three song debut EP Inspace., describe the band’s frenzied efforts to write, record, and prepare for an early-winter release. Produced and guided by Henry Moss, the band recorded at the illustrious Noble Street Studios in Toronto. With each part they laid down, they dialed in to the vast array of sounds from which they draw their inspiration. Sounds of grunge, hardcore, shoegaze, and vocalist Amina’s recalling of the soulful and powerful rock vanguard (the Joplins, Cornells, Morrisettes, etc.), all fused together to create Planned Dilemma’s distinctive sound. The songs were then mixed and mastered by Zach Weeks at Kurt Ballou’s GodCity Studio, where they were given the GodCity signature gnarl. All in all, whether viewed as politically charged, self-loathing, or a personal respite, one thing escapes interpretation. The band channels these songs through the psyche of disgruntled youth in a culture of uncertainty.
Ukrainian modern melodic metallers Scarleth unveil new video for ‘Be What You Are’ taken from their latest full-length album Vortex. Guitarist Victor Morozov comments: “This music video is tribute to pre-COVID 19 era we all miss so much. We hope that great old days when all bands were touring the world freely will return soon!” He continues: “’Be What You Are’ is a short and pushful song which says that anyone can achieve anything. The most important is to believe in yourself and take action. Riffs in this track are quite unusual to our style I must say and that makes the track stand on it’s own.” [via Metal Goddesses]
Rio de Janeiro-based heavy metal act White Death present a music video for ‘Beyond Good And Evil’. Watch it below. The music video addresses the daily life of a psychiatrist, played by vocalist Priscylla Moreno, dealing with her problems and frustrations that move through a fine line that separates madness from reason. In a society increasingly dependent on meanings, the meaning of the facts and their possible values are becoming less and less visible. The idealization and production of this clip was a partnership between White Death and Ronald Barros Films. “I forget sensibility and abuse my imagination, like water that overflows and no longer sediments”, with this sentence encoding the chorus, the song ‘Beyond Good And Evil’ is the most reflective silence that the band White Death has ever translated. The song immediately brings to mind the various influences that have shaped the band’s sound: heavy guitars, reflective lyrics and striking vocals. The translation of this new moment of the band is in this single that was produced, recorded and mastered at Loud Factory Studios in São Paulo, under the direction of Wagner Meirinha and Thiago Assolini. The art conception of White Death’s new single is based on the texts of the philosopher Nietzsche. The artist Fábio Vargas, who was in charge of this endeavour, sought to build bridges between the various references that make up the band’s universe and Nietzsche’s nihilism. This drawing is the synthesis that infers the whole guiding concept of this work. [via Metal Goddesses]

Gas Lit is the new album by the multidimensional duo Divide and Dissolve, out via Invada Records on January 29 and produced by Ruban Neilson of Unknown Mortal Orchestra. About this latest single, Divide and Dissolve explains: “’Prove It’ calls into question the need to prove you experienced something. If someone wasn’t there to witness it, it still happened and may have caused harm. Colonial power structures, power dynamics, and societal expectations rely on Black, Indigenous, and people of color being Gas Lit and denying our experiences because the predominant, white-supremacist narrative demands us to. When a tree falls in the forest, it has fallen. ‘Prove It’ is about the acceptance of experiences of pain without expectation.” [via New Noise]

Spanish melodic death metal band Synlakross presents a new single ‘The Last Day Of Eris’. The song is taken from the band’s upcoming album 0K4M1. With their fourth studio album, Synlakross present a story of a half-human, half-alien creature sending us a message from somewhere millions of light years away. 0K4M1 is a creature created by humans from a synthetic embryo and alien DNA. Created to be a lethal weapon, the new antichrist. Before dying, it decides to record its life experience and share it with everyone who receives this message. The band: “It is a sad but beautiful album, dark but full of energy. An epic space opera that marks a new era for the band. We know who we are, we know what we want. This is our sound. Love it or hate it.” [via Metal Goddesses]
