Whose Bloodied Locks No Crown Would Bear

My father was in a fine mood that morning. Both of them were, although when it came to Da, you could not tell as much from looking. He was able to appear quite grave, when he wanted to. He was always more serious when we were away from home, at Buckkeep. He did not smile so openly there, as he always did at Withywoods.

On a Springfest visit to Buckkeep, Fitz is dragged unwillingly back into the politics of the Farseers. Bee and Beloved come to the rescue.

Haven’t made much art this week, but here’s some concept art for an AF (and probably Alexmis) AU I’m playing around with!

It’s Siren Artemis!

(notes/lore/design stuff/etc):

- I use the term ‘siren’ loosely because technically Artemis is a siren/selkie hybrid! I read a fic once ft. Angeline as a selkie (it’s by @orangerosebush go check it out here)- the idea was fantastic and I wanted to incorporate that somehow? So his mother is a selkie and his father is a siren.

- Artemis primarily takes after his father in appearance, though there are a few minor differences- his sclera are normally white, for example, and unlike Fowl Senior’s striped pattern (resembling a tiger shark), Artemis inherited his mother’s mottled spots. He also can take a human guise, though it’s not as foolproof as his mother’s.

- However, Artemis does have a striped pattern under certain conditions- almost all sirens have some variety of glowing markings, like those of deep sea fish, that appear when it’s too dark to see. These help members of the group find each other in the darkness, and also aid in underwater communication.

- Artemis has a curious fascination with humans... their technology, specifically (he finds the creatures themselves to be rather stressful to be around). He often hovers around beaches or sifts through shipwrecks in order to find more information, This annoys his father to no end, as Fowl Senior has a particular hatred for humanity- he’s the reason for local legends of a sea monster sinking the ships that travel through the narrow patch of cliffside the Fowls + Butlers call home.

- Artemis did inherit the sirens’ song from his father, though it’s magic is weak from lack of use. It’s remarkably similar to the mesmer, actually.

Hanahaki AU Artemis

ANYWAYS I GOT AN AU I WANNA SHOW OFF—

So this was spawned from when I was chatting with a friend over on discord while she was doodling the points and she asked:

“Wait, is Mino’s Symbol his face or some type of visor??”

And whoops this came into existence.

It’s not the “something” au it’s a Hero AU, where the points are normal people with extra power granted to them by their symbol/core. Their symbol on their faces are now holographic visors, which tell them details of the world around them as well as identifying enemies n such. Cores grant abilities similar to the canonical points and then some—

V2 (Verfection/Second Star Savior) is the newest recruit, their core being a multi-purpose core and able to use multiple abilities at once such as shield and star shooter. They’re also the adopted child of the team’s leader, Cyalm, so they were granted a semi-experimental core after V1’s “betrayal.”

V1, known as Stratosfear, was a member of this team until granted their current core, which was an experimental core, and incredibly unstable. They betrayed the team by destroying a part of Sky City (replaces Sky Emporium) seemingly on purpose. Favors the “Scorpio” function.

V3 is a member in the Future, being the one required to retrieve the failing cores of the heroes in the future, since the cores have then taken over the heroes’ bodies and using them as puppets in order to survive past their expiration date.
