I don't know if I'm just slow, but I just realised that one of the reasons Gideon feels so connected and attacked to (or, as she probably interprets it, in love with) Harrow is not only because they were the only kids-teens on a lonely planet but also because she was literally in Harrow's mind for six months. She was so close to Harrow's psyche she narrated htn. Even if she didn't love her beforehand, being so close and intimate with somebody definitely does something to you.

This reminded me A LOT of Harrow and the death of all the children of the Ninth.

My theory is that in all the religious symbolism of TLT it's not just Gideon who is Jesus. It's Harrow-Gideon. Both had "miracle" births (if I recall, Harrow's parents failed to conceive many times before Harrow). Both have been treated by John as his children. Both died~ and both have come back.

I think the difference between Jesus and Harrow-Gideon will be that the two will give in to Satan's Alecto "temptations" because in this case it is God who offers wealth, pride, power etc while Alecto will probably at least offer the freedom of choosing.

I was just thinking about G1deon and his character/behavior in HtN. And the little moments when Pyrrha appeared. And then Pyrrha in NtN. I've always had this picture of G1deon in my head of unreasonable, violent, the minor bad guy. But. He was John best friend. And he was friends with Pyrrha. And then he saw his bestie turn into this evil wizard and he thinks he killed his other best friend and the rest of his friends ignore him and he fell in love with god's enemy. And then he died heroically and it turn out Pyrrha is alive and she doesn't care about God anymore.

I just think fanart of Gideon and Harrow going the Cannan House is neat.
