Agent Prince design by Mirka Andolfo
Cast at SDCC 2018
So, shortly after the Season 4 finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I tried to convince my husband to draw a B Squad comic panel for me. He agreed, started, and then life happened and he never got further than a partial sketch of Davis and Prince.
Well, then Max Osinski (Agent Davis) was announced as a guest for The Ultimates (for which I had bought a ticket), so I talked my husband into finally finishing the comic panel (with a slightly more up-to-date text that the amazing @agl03 helped come up with), so that I could let Max sign it.
And then Briana Venskus (Agent Piper) got announced as a last-minute guest!
So, now, I not only have this amazing comic panel, created by my amazing husband, but I also have it SIGNED BY TWO OUT OF THREE PEOPLE PICTURED!
PLEASE DO NOT REPOST ARTWORK BY ITSELF!
21st February 2017 - Agents of Shield 4x15 ‘Self Control’, aka one of the most emotionally painful hours of fictional television I have ever experienced, That Time When Caestridge Invented Acting, the most perfect skimmons hug (to date - I have not yet watched season 5 so cannot judge fingers crossed tho), the death of unexpected hero Mama LMD May, formation of the Smol Bus Team, and the (unwelcome but also very welcome because hello Brett Dalton and also I am a sucker for returning characters of most varieties) return of dearest hydra nazi Grant Douglas Ward, aired in the US for the first time.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 4X21: A summary.
Hi! Can I ask for main B squad (Piper&Prince&Davis) headcanons?
Piper likes pineapple on pizza and she’ll fight anyone (Prince) who says it’s disgusting
Prince enjoys practical jokes (and thinks pineapple on pizza is disgusting)
Davis went to the Communications Academy
Mix and Match - Chapter 1
Winston’s stare wasn’t something McCree was unused to. His missions never really went over well, and with what usually consisted of his attire, he stood out in just about any situation. So the ape’s withering gaze was about as effective as Dr.Ziegler’s comments about the spurs on his boots. No, it was just another debrief for him. Hanzo was another beast altogether.
His eyes could make even those with the highest constitution shrink. The narrowed eyes and crossed arms that were tightened as if it were the only things stopping him from attacking the man he was directing his hatred at. If McCree liked the man at all, he might have felt a certain way about it. But he had no words for the one who had hurt his buddy Genji the way he had, even if Genji himself had supposedly forgiven him.
“I don’t mean to be impolite,” the cowboy started, “But is either one of you gonna tell me what’s going on here?”
“Well, it should come as no surprise, but we have had a rather stagnant recruitment flow since the recall,” Winston wiped his glasses as he turned to the monitor and flipped through the files of the former operatives of Overwatch.
“Some refused, understandably having families and other obligations, others have regrettably turned to the other side of the law and we can’t use them in our operations… some…” the last portrait is the hardest to look at. Blackwatch commander Gabriel Reyes, at one time McCree’s heart skipped seeing that face. Now it sunk into the bottom of his stomach and he felt he might be sick. Winston noticed and turned off the monitor. His point had been made.
“The point, gentlemen, is that we are not the force we once were. And if we have the chance to recruit some fresh faces, we will consider them. Which brings me to why you two are here,” McCree noticed Hanzo’s eyebrow raise slightly. He was waiting for the punchline to this.
“You can come in,” footsteps from the doorway to the office opened up and in stepped two teens. McCree snapped his attention right back to Winston with a hard glare.
“Now you know how I feel about this…” Jesse had been against D.Va and Lucio joining for the exact same reason. Even though both were only partially affiliated with Overwatch, it didn’t sit well with him that there were kids in this occupation.
“I understand you reservations, Agent McCree, but they aren’t fresh to the fight. You are familiar with the Orphan Rebellion?”
McCree nodded. After Overwatch fell, there was no international force to battle the various gangs and insurgents that rose from the power vaccum that the politically self interested had created. Particularly in the southern part of America.
Hanzo merely shook his head and stared pointedly at Winston. The ape sighed and the teens rolled their eyes.
“A few years back, an orphanage came under attack from local insurgents looking to get a foothold in the area,” McCree began, “and what should’ve been an easy victory turned into a disaster thanks to the efforts of the two eldest kids. It gained the attention of the country because the very thing they were looking to nab from the orphanage was what got ‘em”
Winston smiled as he turned to the men standing before him, “And I have both of them here today.”
Hanzo huffed, “And what does this have to do with me?”
The look on Winston’s face was like he was dealing with a group of children.
“You two will be their guardians, so to speak. Now-”
The rest of his words were drowned out by protests from three of the four present.
“I am no one’s babysitter! You cannot expect me to -”
“I’m not some kid, I can handle myself just-”
“Now wait just a minute, I’m not so sure about this-”
Winston felt his patience slipping from his grasp.
“ENOUGH!!”
The sound bounced around the room, and left all three speechless. The fourth, was unmoved, his entire focus in a book he was studying.
“My apologies. Now, where was I? Oh yes, before I can send them on their own, they need to have a feel for the operations and missions they will be assigned. We don’t have any kind of effective program for this, and with Agents Tracer, Reinhardt, and Torbjörn out at Gibraltar, you two are the only ones with enough experience left on this base.”
McCree could feel the tension in the room like he was underwater. If Winston’s plan was to make this go over well with anyone, he was doing a pretty bang up job.
“Well, I will leave you all to get better acquainted with each other. Agent McCree, you’ll be working with Agent Prince, and Agent Hanzo, you will be working with Agent Coven. Please try to get along.”
With that, Winston lumbered out the room, leaving the awkward situation to it’s own devices. McCree decided if he had to deal with this, he would do so with a good first impression. He walked over to the boy with the book in his grasp and held out his hand in greeting.
“You must be Prince. It’s nice to meet'cha!” He gave a winning smile and waited for the boy to give him some sign of having heard him. After a few tense seconds, the lad closed his book and stared at McCree as he stood there. He sighed and pointed beside him.
Standing beside him was a slender girl, couldn’t be more than 19. Her blood red locks were done in a loose braid, emerald eyes narrowed, and her freckles were almost visible behind her red face… wait…
“Really? I told him I didn’t want that name, I knew they would do that! Ugh,” she barked, “and now they have me galivanting with some cowboy who looks like the poster boy for a Pride float. Who’s idea was this?”
“Yours,” the boy whispered. His glance from behind his round-frame glasses and brown jew-fro sang volumes. He didn’t want to be here.
“Whatever. I’m going to go check out my room. McCree, was it? Look, I don’t wanna do this, you don’t wanna do this. But for the sake of time, let’s just deal until we don’t have to.”
With that, Prince whirled around on her heel and stomped out the room. That left the boy. He stared after Prince for a minute before sighing and getting to his feet. He held the book in his hands and stared at Hanzo, his expression blank.
“Abeo”
Coven’s eyes went black, as if his pupil had swallowed his iris, and then he disappeared. McCree’s eyes reached his eyeline, and glanced to see Hanzo with the same expression. It lasted only a second before Hanzo frowned and stalked out the room in silence. McCree huffed and decided it was pointless to stand around now.
He decided to swing by his room and grab Peacekeeper. A few hours at the shooting range might help. Something other than thinking about having to spend more time than he wanted to with his best buddy’s murderer and a couple of kids he was now training to be killers before they could have their first drink…
