So, I just had to count on my fingers to remember how old I am... Fuck.
The sound of a cassette being flipped from side a to side b. Picking up the phone and hearing someone else is already on the phone, a fadeded sticker "be kind rewind" and the sound of the Vhs being rewound. These things haunt me in the middle of the night, these things are being forgotten as new generations grow...
It's sad to know one day these will be forgotten, there's something almost haunting now to hear and see things from the not so distant past.
Sigyn aging process
It’s true that games (and other forms of media) age, and their characters age with them. Some gracefully, some recklessly.
Freya was my first favourite character. It’s amazing she lasted this long. But then again FF9 was a classic.
Then Fang took her place. She came in like a wrecking ball, flying into the scene on a motorcycle (literally!) and has captured my attention since. From that point I believed I had a thing for spears and characters who use them. But not Cid from FF7 or Kimahri from FF10. Or any other MMORPGs I’ve played. Odd. 🤔
As we all know, the new overthrow the old. And right now May Marigold is having a sparring match with Fang while Freya munches on popcorn. Fang, the fighter I frequently play as in FF13 versus May, a side character I can barely touch. While last to be recruited in her game, Fang has comparatively loads more screen time than May whose number of lines are relatively easy to remember. Between the two, the newcomer has less offensive power because she’s up against Ragnorak the doom bringer.
And yet she’s slowly succeeding Fang.
Perhaps, perhaps, in years to come, after RWBY has ended, a new character from a new series or game would compete for the crown. But it’s really hard to be considered a fav in my book. Heck, over the course of 20 years only 3 characters have made it. And I’m not sure if they have really anything in common that can serve as enlightenment as to why I’m attracted to them, besides being women.
Stem cells are the body’s raw materials — cells that can turn into any other type of cell in the body, from muscle cells to brain cells. Pluripotent stem cells can undergo self-renewal and are vital for the healthy development of embryos. They have been the subject of numerous studies...
